  1. I will probably go for the CZ P-10C if I look at the CZ.
  2. Currently have my eyes on either the Sig Sauer P320RX or Glock 19 Gen 5 MOS. My old Taurus PT100 needs to be retired. Got it when I turned 22 many years ago.
  3. Yea, I have an Air Arms S400 myself. However, the smell of that burnt propellant is like a drug.
  4. Putting holes in pieces of paper is another addiction all on it's own, and can make you poor in a hurry. Almost all Texans suffer from this addiction. God, I hate them for having it so easy to buy things that makes holes in paper.
  5. 1. The mounting rings of the scope also determines the alignment. 9 times out of 10 it will never be parallel to the barrel. 2. You determine what should be the zeroed setup for your scope by going through the alignment process which involves shooting at a target setup at your preferred distance and then dialing in the scope. Once you are happy that the scope shoots on the dot at that distance, then you zero the windage and elevation knobs. On my Bushnell I simple lift up the adjustment knob and turn it to zero. On others you will need to loosen a screw and turn the knob.
  6. Fixed it for ya.
  7. Don't think so, but he is the shortest of the front men (usually), so makes sense.
  8. Exactly why we don't do that stuff anymore. We normally go for a 2 hour session for the kids at Rush, without the accompanying kids party. We buy them some donuts or whatever they want, and let them jump themselves tired. I am sure the parents appreciate the quiet and tired kids that evening.
  9. I finally decided to make good on my promise to myself when I was young. The other day I closed my eyes to my wallet and took my American Special Strat home with me. Practising my pentatonics everyday till me fingers hurt. My son is also on it at least an hour every day. Maybe there is still hope for the future generation.
  10. Defense lawyers will tell you that your logic will count against you. It is better that the perpetrator is not present in court to tell a completely different story to your account of events that led to you shooting and maiming him/her.
  11. So, the National Fiscus is now poorer after I submitted my returns. Man, that plugin BS was a pain to get fixed, even after I installed the latest plugins and whatnot. I had to clicked on THEIR stupid link to get it to work.
  12. Sigs are legendary for reliability. If I could I would get myself a P229 as carry. Even better if it was a Legion issue.
  13. Shot placement is probably the most defining factor with small arms. Even a .22 will kill you if the shot hits the right target on the body. The problem is that most shots at target goes to the biggest part of the body, it being the chest (mostly lungs as the heart is much smaller and very hard to hit), and a shot at the lungs are not really effective in stopping an advancing target.
  14. .40 do not have heavy recoil. It is a low velocity caliber. More important is to take your wife to the range to show her proper technique for handling the firearm when shooting, and for racking the slide.
  15. Load your own ammo. Such fun. I load my own .40S&W ammo.
  16. That pissed me off. Not even benches where you could sit and eat your burger. Really, how difficult and expensive could it be to organise some wooden tables/benches with umbrellas. I had to sit on the grass in the little bit of shade of the finish marker. I don't think I will even bother for next year. Would rather support the other races where they still care more for the paying customers than for the advertisers/sponsors. Compare this to last year where you had lots of tables under trees and all facilities at the finish venue. And you also get the nice ride over the beach a few meters from the sea. Plus that awesome extra ST under the trees before you hit the right turn to the finish.
  17. Yes, the only 2 complimentary burgers and chips nonsense, where last year you got for each day. Really, this is not on for a race where each rider pays about R2500 per day. You can expect the riders to be hungry at the finish.
  18. Wife and partner finished day 3 in around 5h30. Was still very hot at places. The finish at the hotel is a total anti-climax compared to the finish over the beach at the resort. Also, absolutely no shade for the riders the relax under. After 3 days of hot riding, they deserve some shade while enjoying a burger and a beer. And then they have to travel across Hermanus to go and have a shower? Really, the organisers must sort this out. Also heard of complaints of no ice at water points for the riders in the last groups. Those are the riders needing the ice. Seems the organisers are dropping the ball here after the transfer of ownership.
  19. Not yet. Wife bailed after 2 hours riding today. Says it was too hot and she had absolute nothing in her legs. I think it is also because I was not there, so her motivation was quite low. Most rider's motivation were low after yesterday.
  20. Wife and my stand-in came in at around 14h30 after their 7h30 start. A bit worse for wear after the dusty trails. Apparently a few blokes wanted to donate their bikes to charity while climbing the Gantouw Pass. Tomorrow is gonna be toasty. Take care if your riding. Expecting about 38 degrees out there. Hidrate enough.
  21. Ja, Still feel like the bloke who organised a party, only to pitch and found everybody has taken all the sweets. Would probably have been able to handle today with the bit of wind cooling you down, but tomorrow and Sunday is gonna be toasty with no wind at all. And that valley can get hot. So, yes.
  22. It was not lekker seeing my wife and replacement rider riding off into the crisp morning air. I felt like kicking something.
  23. Ja, Tell me about Safari and Out Of Stock! What's with these people? I always struggle to get the bullets I need for reloading my range ammo.
  24. Dammit, that's a nice setup. I am also planning some time or other to get such a setup but with a Howa 6.5 Creedmoor. I currently have a .270 Howa Hunter with a beautiful traditional Walnut stock.
  25. My wife decided that she is going to ride. A friend of her sister has offered to ride in my place. He is a decent rider and fitter than me. My wife is an ex-Boland hurdles athlete, and is used to practice sport in the Boland summer heat, so she will be fine, as she was last year on the first 2 days of the midweek ride when it was also as hot.
