  1. Let's hope the weather predicted holds. Will be epic if it does. Some of us deserve it. Seems those Europeans are bringing the weather with them for the 10th.
  2. http://www.traveller24.com/News/Alerts/update-cape-point-fire-still-raging-helicopters-deployed-by-sanparks-20180302 Why do I get this shitty feeling in my arse again?
  3. Love some of those comments.
  4. and this one on a more serious note...
  5. Weather has been really dodgy to predict lately, but it does look like we won't be getting a very strong SE. Maybe some. But it has been hot and muggy the past 2 weeks. I do see a pattern of some Southerlies and rain in the next few weeks.
  6. Fixed it for you.
  7. Just putting this out there.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ichZ6GnEEk&feature=youtu.be Have fun! It's almost Friday.
  8. I am in 3D this year, was seeded in 4C last year. My son is in 1G. And my wife in 5B.
  9. My youngest son's entry is up for grabs. PM me.
  10. And the people are not falling for the new enthusiasm around BTC again. They have already been burned. The thing about BTC: If you make money, someone else is losing money. So, effectively it is a Ponzi scheme. There is no product being sold to provide a gowing income in which all shareholders derive value from, unless I am mistaken.
  11. My son said that the secret to the wine barrel is the entry point. Once you get that right, the rest is easy. This was taken of him doing the barrel on a scouting ride this past Tuesday before his crash at the drop which prevented him from competing in the race Saturday.
  12. Saw a bloke using hectic skills going down the wine barrel on his top tube after he almost crashed on the top part when there was a mini pile up.
  13. It is damn time that geysers gets retired. You want to tell me humans have not been able to develop a device that heats the water up to a desired temp in seconds while flowing through the device? Maybe I should add this:
  14. Did CT not host a big Rugby 7s tournament recently? Was there unrest and condemnation about the influx of tourists then? Can't remember seeing any.
  15. Facebook hysteria also said that if Trump wins the USD will tank and there will be a nuclear war.
  16. Checked it today. Not yet there.
  17. I am having a torrid time with World Of Tanks. They have a horrible matchmaker system which means that as a beginner you face opposing tanks with fully trained crews, fully kitted with all the modules to make the tank more accurate and invisible. It means that you get ripped to shreds by tanks that you don't even see. And if your gunner is not yet fully trained, he can't even shoot an elephant at 10 meters. Frustrating when you aim at a spot, and the shot goes everywhere else than where you are aiming at. Must be the worst game for beginning players, which is why their player pool keeps on dropping.
  18. He has done it a few times. He says it is actually quite easy. He was just relaxed too much maybe. A mate of his asked him to show how to run it. His speed was too slow and landed on his front wheel. His confidence was on high as he had just done the wine barrel before it with no issue. Also has a crack in his new S-Works Prevail II helmet. Got it for him just this past December.
  19. Mini Savage had a massive fall while practicing at the Coetzenburg circuit today. He had a big OTB at the A-line drop going down to the field at the bottom. Luckily Mediclinic is very close. He suffered concussion and a crack in his jawbone. Also his coach is Lance, who is experienced and attended to him very professionally. Unfortunately it means that he won't be riding Saturday, and his Pure Savage kit is stuffed.
  20. Since it is a SA XCO and UCI series event, you will need a CSA Racing Licence.
  21. Unfortunately the results are not a fair reflection of how you raced, since in the middle distance race some riders did 29km, and some 33km (doing that long loose rocky climb extra taking us almost 20 minutes longer alone). And in the long race some riders did 57km and some 49km aor so. But anyway. It was just a ride to wake up the body for the new year.
  22. Thanks. Ja, the blokes that helped me were proper nice guys. 4 or 5 stopped to help me. One bloke thought my shoulder was off. But luckily I usually tuck in my arms without thinking. Programmed response I think from my amateur wrestling days at school. Yes, there were 2 important markers missing. 1 point at the split in the ST running along the dam, and then one going back on the mountain. Most people went down a very loose rocky descent (including me) to the road at the bottom, and we had to climb back up the mountain to get to the point where we should have joined the road on the mountain. The rest missing markers one could figure out where one needed to go after stopping a bit looking for clues. My son went up the wrong way on the split in the ST along the dam.
  23. You are on your own on the terrain part. I prefer to go forward when I pedal, not sideways to and fro like a drunken snake.
  24. What a freakin horror show for me. Did not feel good at the start. Got dropped by my wife, and then sand, loose rocks, more sand, more loose rocks, missing trail markers, then having to do an extra loose rocky climb that went on for miles that we should not have done because of a missing route marker. Some on the middle distance did 29km, and some 33km. And then after the 2nd WP I had a spectacular tumble on the (guess it!) loose rocky descent. Thanks to whoever helped me up. From there on I struggled on with a hurting shoulder and thigh, and focusing on where the route is supposed to be. My son was 13th at one point in the middle distance race, and then too went on the wrong route at a split with no marker, got hauled in by the marshal on the motorbike and told to go back down. I suppose those that did the race before knew where to go, others did not. My first and last Porcupine Ridge. Oh, somewhere on the mountain I got passed by one flying Savage and his mate. Pulled off for them and they said a big thank you. Brilliant Waterpoints BTW.
  25. So, just about the same as that Relive ride of Natie posted earlier.
