  1. To some it's more than a funride. When those treating it as a funride get mixed up with those trying to go hard there can be problems. That I presume is the reason for seeding. Anyway this is off topic.
  2. Start a new topic with this info. Something is fishy and needs an explanation.
  3. So how did it go today? Particularly those that did Wannabees ride at the beginning of Feb. I was happy with my ride, got in under 3:30.

My wife caught the M3 crash on her cellphone by chance. Hope everyone involved recovers quickly. I enjoyed the ride, got my sub 3:30 which is as much as could be expected.

Big crash on Blue Route. Must have been L, M or N group. 3 people taken off to hospital according to my wife who was watching there. Was in R group, saw riders lying all over the place. Noticed a fair sized pot hole about 50 meters before the crash site.
  6. I see it has been explained to you that the DA have nothing to do with SAPS. Do you not want to edit your message again?
  7. Enjoy the ride guys. Was hoping to ride along again but will not be able.
  8. Sure you guys will find this interesting... http://lc-triathlete.com/low-carb-journey/
  9. And I'm happily one of them. Great day out.
  10. Lekker ride. Route, weather, company. Thanks for organizing Wannabe. Hey, wheres the group pic?
  11. Great. I'll jump on the bus opposite Starke Ayres on Liesbeek Parkway. Looking forward to the ride.
  12. Cool. Distance no problem, I'm in Rosebank so just need to know which road you'll be coming down.
  13. Keen to join you guys. Open to anyone? And presume you'll be going down Main Road past the Baxter Theatre, if so ok to join in there?
  14. I’ve learnt from all the regular contributors here. The guys (has been mostly guys) ‘style’ of writing and primary focus are all different, as it is everywhere. No one really knows exactly what we should or shouldn’t be eating but there are certain items that it’s becoming clear we should avoid. Some will eliminate those, others will reduce their intake. I’m not going to stop having more than a single glass of wine! Ok most on this forum take their diets seriously and I presume this being a cycling site they also take their cycling seriously. So who eats well AND shaves their legs??
  15. R265 for a race without road closure?
  16. Just had a look at the google drive thingy, quite a few videos. Any recommendations on which are essential? (Can see myself eventually downloading them all...)
  17. Not my fb post btw, just happened to come across it.

  19. Thanks for that htone. My initial success in Jan was going cold turkey on the obvious things like bread, sweets etc. Think the older we are the harder it is to change decades worth of carb 'abuse'. Abuse in that I've been involved in aerobic sport for almost 30 years and the convention wisdom was carte blanche with carbs.
  20. Any tips on breaking the carb cravings? Did quite well at the beginning of the year but a big family function (2 weeks worth!) in April had me back on the carbs. Have battled since then to get back to where I was. Carb addiction is not hocus pocus. Jan - Apr lost 6 kg, Apr - Jun put 6 kg back on.
  21. Blog post by a convert to LCHF eating, she gives a very good summary of what it's all about. http://di-smith.blogspot.com/2013/06/lchf-low-carb-high-fat.html?spref=tw
  22. Yep. The business of pro cycling is a joke. People can do what they want with their lives but these arseholes will no longer have my support. I love to ride partly because its 'good' for me. So what these guys are doing doesn't relate.
