I've been commuting for years with no hassles. Today was my first time on that green cycle lane through Woodstock and a car cut across the bike lane and BAM! Sitting here with 2 fractured ribs and collapsed lung. I know I was going faster than I should have been but still think that lane isn't a decent solution

Damn. Ended up being two fractured ribs and a collapsed lung. Just had a thing called a chest drain. Not fun at all!

Anyone in Woodstock see my wipe out this morning? Must have looked insane. Was cruising to town on that new bike lane and a car cut across the lane. I rekon I was going around 40km/h when I hit the side of the car,didn't even get a chance to brake. I jumped as I hit the car and I FLEW! Somehow all i broke on the bike was a spoke on the back wheel. Carried on cycling to work but I think I've broken a rib or something, so here I sit waiting for an xray. Stupid to be going fast in the rain even though I was on a bike lane.

I've ridden from Milnerton to town (and back) pretty much every single work day for the last 3 years. There is a cycle track the whole way to town, just follow the bus route. The only dodgy part is the tunnel going under the N1, by Paarden Eiland. There have been muggings (usually around 5pm) but I wouldn't discourage people from cycling that route. Just be observant and if something doesnt look right then turn around or wait for another cyclist for saftey in numbers. I find drafting the buses through the tunnel the safest

I've done all the races and got a seeding that would pretty much guarantee a sub 3 (which would be my first) yet surprisingly I don't care about this Argus as much as I'd have expected.

Surf looks good for Saturday. Don't have to worry about spending too long in the water and being tired for the Argus!
