  1. you live in Bedfordview, PLEASE may i suggest you rather take it to a club in your area that's famous for caring, and has their own development team constantly growing, and i promise you GERMISTON WHEELERS would truly appreciate all the assistance they can get from their neighbours. i I promise you if you phone any of the following people they will make a plan to collect anything from anybody they might have to donate. Regards, Jaco Herbst. (Ex Germiston Wheelers member) Phone the development guy uncle Mervyn on (082) 412-6429, or phone the vice-chairman Deon (084) 589-1503 or you can phone the chairman Simon (084) 575-0002. Simply tell them you got the info from the hub and believe they could use cycling goodies for the development team.
  2. And we thought it will be fun to start a new team.....headaches galore. Did you see the post on LICENSE fast one and time span to get them back?
  3. TURBO, we were on a recovery ride.....hahaha
  4. TURBO, Stop bragging about what you got, show them what you are prepared to give back.....Remember, ill be watching you. Ps: Who cares what they cost, your head is the most important item and to keep it safe shop around for the best helmet you can afford, and then once you find it beg on the nearest corner for some more money to buy the better model.
  5. TURBO & 1Hill@aTime, What will you boys know about the Lido in any case, Germiston Wheelers never pay any attention in that stretch of the loop as everybody is taking stock to determine if there will be any attack around the next corner to string the bunch out on the back section. If you ride normal you would have noticed the renovations. See you Saturday on the loop to loosen some legs if the rain allows us, else we will chat at the fast one.
  6. HEy leave TELKOM out of this POEP_L, cellphones.....Listen T, i like the team colours under your name. The sneak preview is spot on. Just quickly, I have ordered our team radios today, will have them by end next week. Kit will be finalised tomorrow. Speak to you later, have to run.
  7. Willehond, I agree about Malcolm or Nick being the better in their age group, but you are missing my point. If we wanted to race pro or Vets so be it, but we are competing in our own age group, and definately do not race the same speed, or tactics or have the huge teams present normally responsible for pushing the race time. All I am saying is rank and rate each age / catagory as is fair, and like you say tandem entries should be seeded under tandem seeing times and vice versa and tandem race times witheld from single bike entries. I personally know a number of tandem riders with under 10 seeding index who can not hold their own or even ride a sub 3 race at 94.7 on their single bikes. Not only does it interfere with novice riders sitting in fast bunches and causing pile-ups but it is frustrating. We are going of the point and creating a number of subjects, all we want to see is that each licensed catogory receive it's due. Malcolm and Nick and so on achieve results in Elites and want to be ranked number 1, 2, 3, etc, and Marco and Craig and so on want to be ranked number 1,2,and so in in the catagory they wish to compete in being their age.
  8. I am glad seeding is getting attention.....I want to know when each will get timed and seeded as it should.....Ladies per catagory avaoiding a lady on the back of a tandem getting a seeding compared with Elite ladies, tandem riders getting great seedings but can not hold their own on a single bike and dangerous when seeded in a race with actual A bunch riders for instance. If you enter to race Elite then your race seeding should be calculated on the Elite winner's time on the day, Vets 30+ calculated on Vets winner on the day and not the Elite winner. We are all riding our own races on the day, the Elites may have a fast and furious race on the day but Vets decide to ride tactical and slow, then we can not be receiving a race seeding based on the Elite winner time for the day. You also find Vets riders like Malcolm Lange, Nick White who ride ELITES, but he is ranked Nationally in our catagory in other words i might rightfully be ranked 10th in the country in Vets 30+ but it is documented that i am 20th due to the Elites ranked under Vets if they are in my age group. NOT FAIR! What is the response please, what will be done?
  9. OBVIOUSLY these guys have not raced against your team CRUXie, wys hulle wie is baas Petrie, Jaco, etc. TCS MAY YOU AGAIN HAVE A GREAT YEAR OF RACING BUT BETTER THAN LAST YEAR. But, watch out for the METAL boys in the VETS! I am a bit worried knowing the METAL boys use TCS personal trainers, how much are these personal trainers riding for TCS Elites willing to help any opposition .....HahahahahahaBIGBOY2008-01-11 10:55:47
  10. We all TRi but not all of us are that successfull
  11. I am shocked as i started to read the notice, i only met Desna and Charles once, but on the day they chatted as if we knew each other for years. Charles and Desna started chatting with my wife and i on the grandstand before this year's Bakwena price giving started. CBirst did well on the day. What a lovely lady i immediately thought, a lady giving her all for ladies cycling, wanting to go all the way to develop the sport amongst young children, she enthusiastically shared advises on how to get my daughter started, and she immediately offered me her cell number so i can phone whenever i needed advise. She lovingly chatted about her daughters, and was so proud, even the youngest one just starting got a lot of mentioning. I witnessed a family who's lives revolve around cycling, friendship, caring and sharing. She talked about her dear friend Liefie Day who she cycled with, and how well Dusty Day is now riding. She had good words to say about everybody. In the short time we chatted, Desna and her family made a huge impact, left thoughts with me I will remember her by for some time. This was a lady that within a hour or so, leaves one with lasting memories and a imagage other can only aspire to. Desna made sure her imagage, personality and love for the sport will live on through her daughters and those she shared time with. You were very special Desna, your husband and children will mis you, but you will live forever in the hearts of those who were fortunate to meet you. Rest in peace, BIGBOY.BIGBOY2007-12-18 02:46:58
