  1. so cleats were fine but i tightened the damn ratchet clip too tight!!!, started getting serious pains in both feet on the down hill after suikerbos climb!! loosened them around camps bay but definitely cost me some time as i was battling to pedal, felt like nails going through my feet .... argghh so disappointed , ended up with a 3:38 on my Polar really wanted to break 3:30....
  2. ah ok sorry about that, sometimes you get some funny attitudes here so i take it one of the 3 screws does not tighten onto the shoe??
  3. thank you , will also try John O'Connor Cycles, seems they close to me, i am staying in Bantry Bay so would have to ride there as bike won't fit in rental car!
  4. i wonder if you are mocking me here ?? is it loose on the shoe or when on the pedal? if the shoe: you will always tighten clockwise and loosen anti clockwise, don't strip the screw if loose once clipped as far as i know there is an adjustment screw underneath your actual pedal on the bike..... that should be tightened...
  5. hey hubbers, as mentioned in a previous post, i had the bad luck of a shoe misfortune, my sole is splitting on my old shoes so i had to get new ones today, who knows of a place that could help with a cleat setup before the Argus?? i am trying to fit them to the best of my knowledge but i don't really want to get stuck into the Argus with a bad setup! please help!!
  6. any tips on swapping cleats??
  7. yup its about time that i buy my own pair ( old DMT's came with the bike lol), had promised myself a pair of SIDI once i broke 3 hours on my first 100km+ race, lucky i did not have to wait for that, those "last 10 minutes" are tough to shave off lol
  8. Hey Hubbers, thought is would be funny to share our little bad luck stories so far for this year..... hope nothing serious has happened to anyone thought... here mine..... so i fetch my bike from Elliots, we staying a few km's from the where i fetch the bike so i recon let me strap on the cleats and ride it home quickly well i get home and notice my shoes are pulling apart at the heels ........... so i say to the wife well sorry but we need to head back to the madness of the expo ( which she did not really enjoy ) to get a new pair of shoes... bought my first pair of SIDI got a pair of white Vernice now to swap the cleats..... eish !!
  9. hey guys rode with the craft yesterday and liked it a lot, they both are very nice i noticed the Medium Craft is slightly tighter then the Medium Decca, it should be good to go in the Craft kit for sunday......
  10. hey hubbers, i am staying in Bantry Bay, being my first Argus not sure how to move around on Sunday , i see notices all over the complex saying roads are closed my wife and my son were hoping to get close to the finish, so they can see my winning sprint lol hahahahaha don't mind the ride to start as its a warm up, my worry is the way home........ Elliot trucks are right at the finish .... ideas anyone??
  11. oh sorry.... thank you for your reply and congrats on the Baby boy
  12. nope, no official sponsor, just was asked if i would wear it and i said yes..... i like your mix and match idea, as at the moment i prefer the EOH top and the MTN bib
  13. Hey HUbbers, i am fortunate enough to have an awesome MTN Qhubeka kit made by Decca , EOH has just given me a very nice looking kit to wish me luck for the Argus, its a Craft kit.....(both are bib kits) padding seems thicker on the Decca.... any opinions from the more experienced guys? i want to do a quick ride with new kit to see how it feels before sunday which kit is better?

  18. i got a late entry but starting in IL at 8:00, happy i got a start but sad about my time i noticed on the seeding site that it says only 1 race... how long would it take to reflect Emperors and Berg & Dale results? that would definitely improve my seeding

  23. hi hubbers, i have been experiencing a strange pain in my upper right calve muscles, its a sharp short pain that happens once in a while, pretty much similar to that pain/ feeling you get in a muscle just before a cramp.... hope that makes sense. i noticed that if i stand off the seat or point my toes when peddling the pain/feeling goes away most of the time. someone mentioned to me my seat could be a bit low? so i will take my bike in to get rechecked i am looking for a physio in the randburg area ??
  24. morning Gerald, thanks for the info, i am hoping to get a late entry tomorrow morning, i don't have a ChampionChip, can i get one at cyclelab and for how much ??
