  1. Should Should have known - Parks never does anything useful on the trails.
  2. Ok cool. Btw, Dogoff = Rollin
  3. Who was all in your winning team? 4barlinkage, Rollin and Badger?
  4. Yeah. My R1500 estimate was worst case scenario in the event that you had to include new tyres.
  5. Well done to the Swampdog SS team!!!
  6. Does my statement above not imply that all tyres have a bead?
  7. Yes they can. Even with data off.
  8. Yeah. Just stick to the green route. The blue there is quite technically challenging... The best thing about Rietvlei is that is has lots of different interesting sections twisty though the trees - fairly flat - that anyone can ride. Just about all singletrack. It is short with lots of options and you are never more than a few kms from the car park. The worst thing about it is that if you don't ride it often it can be a bit disorientating not know where the hell you are. But easy to find your way if you stick to the trails.
  9. Another good option is Groenkloof in Pretoria.
  10. Yes The Vlei is a much better idea than Kingskloof alone. It is probably one of the safest venues around.
  11. Yeah Kings is a fun ride. Just need to make sure you have your climbing legs on and you are confident on steep rocky descents otherwise you will do a lot of resting and walking. There are one or two technical climbs that most guys can't get up.
  12. How high did you drop him from? Answer in inches please!
  13. Ja, Hylton took a group of us up there a coupla months ago. Was awesome fun. Definitely going to hit them again and hopefully get the 30km trail in too.
  14. Yeah, I do sail down dust roads waiting for the next bit of singletrack.
  15. Failed to notice the rider to the left front of me from cutting across my forward bow on a wide sand road.
  16. Holy mother of rear brakes!! FTR you were the one who said that "everyone" uses their rear more. Now it's 90% who frequent your shop. Using the front brake properly is one of the first skills I teach and most guys I ride with use their front brake to do the majority of the stopping. And most of those bike never see the inside of a bike shop so not even in your 10%. But I get what you are saying: most riders haven't got a clue.
  17. Dunno about that. I change front brake pads twice as often as rear. I suppose I don't use rear brake to adjust 'cruising' velocity either. Brake hard when it is needed otherwise leave them alone as much as possible.
  18. I wonder if any of the bikes have a trigger under the saddle dropper for riding past schools?
  19. I knew of someone who rode a road bike with only one arm who had both brakes on the one side too.
  20. There is no correct answer. It is personal preference. I do use my dominant hand for the front brake as it is more sensitive and does most of the braking.
  21. Yes I guess it would look wrong but that blue Socom with the gold bling doesn't ever ride past schools.
  22. Just hasn't installed the remote yet. Have you ever tried to use the under the seat trigger while in motion? Flippen dangerous. lol
  23. It looks like a KS dropper post to me?
