  1. That's not the only place to get Spank goodies...
  2. Are you sure she didn't say? Wife: " Choose, me a BIKE!!"
  3. I have an orange one of those on my black bike with blue/white accents. Only recently added orange pedals... http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd175/Seanf1art/general/bikes/20130613_111727_zpsc9037d6c.jpg If your hamstrings are quite strong you will find yourself preferring to go back a little. Forward position quads come more into play. I like to be balanced between the two and have the patella over the axle. It's a good starting point. But yeah. On the MTB I prefer a short stem and wide bars.
  4. Awesome thanks guys. Too much choices eh eh eh...
  5. Got it from the first quote here: http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/b/bob_marley.html Guess they were wrong?
  6. I could ride a tandem with the wife for 6 hours a day without the slightest hint of friction. I suppose it helps that we don't have to continuously worry about staying on the bike.
  7. Bub, I get your point as people ride for different reasons. But forget all that for now. I need your opinion over in single speeds please: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/131941-ragley-marley-build-aka-bob/page__st__32#entry2091383
  8. Looking for the best Bob quote to put on the frame. Currently like this excerpt from one o his longer quotes about life: "So when you are riding through the ruts, don't complicate your mind..."
  9. Then you are doing it wrong. Most of my riding is alone or with like minded buddies. I ride bikes with the wife (just the two of us) possibly once every two months and it is awesome when we do. She is far above average technically and quite strong. She doesn't ever complain. I love seeing her achieve personal milestones like doing that drop off for the first time which bugged her for years. Most times we ride together on mtb club rides so we are kinda together but each with our own 'group'.
  10. If the bug hasn't bitten then she won't understand. Every girlfriend I ever had became a cyclist eventually but I never ever suggested they should get a bike or join me for a ride. Came to their own conclusions from seeing the passion and the enjoyment I get from riding - not to mention the physical benefits... Oh, and you can speak to the wife. Cycling does initially make the legs bigger as the muscle grows. But then the fat disappears and they become much slimmer an firmer.
  11. Like so in my entrance hall... http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd175/Seanf1art/20131010_080314_zpsd5d9f78c.jpg Bike room... http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd175/Seanf1art/20131010_080430_zpsda30c194.jpg http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd175/Seanf1art/20131010_080438_zpsd484234a.jpg
  12. We have one roadbike in the lounge on an IDT. Two others hang up in the double volume indoor hall. A few in the outside covered entrance hall. And 13 (not all mine) currently in the bike room. The wife doesn't mind as a few of them are hers.
  13. I knew he was selling a lot of stuff but I never thought he'd sell those so didn't think to ask.
  14. Thanks man. Rasta Rory is going to be jealous. Haha
  15. Eish. I didn't know about this sale. Green hubs?
  16. Go over to Thug's Farmasutra Events thread(s) and check some of the vids posted. There is a lot of sandstone. Some of it very bumpy. It is steep up and steep down depending on which routes are chosen. Or fast and flowing down - kinda like enduro. There is no way the route will go down the black trail. Not many okes will be able to ride that.
  17. Marley owner shreds in the snow. http://www.pinkbike.com/video/295205/ (edit: sorry, it wouldn't embed)
  18. Don't know yet.
  19. Thanks dude. Yeah. And will be perfect for the Farmasutra trails... CRC R580
  20. Sounds interesting...
  21. BTW, that post is just to hold the bike on the stand during the build. It will get my KS i950R
  22. The Ragley saddle and Wiserbars http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd175/Seanf1art/20130918_090532_zps57b9bb33.jpg The other SS bits plus Narrow Wide Chainring http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd175/Seanf1art/20130918_090808_zps68813a2f.jpg
  23. My one dilemma... What wheels to build up? There is plenty clearance to run 650B but do I want to? The BB is low enough but will it take away from the inherant playful nature? Will test ride with both before making a decision.
  24. Thanks guys. The part list so far: Ragley Marley 18" frame Fox Vanilla 140RL fork Ragley Wiserbars 740mm Ragley saddle SLX cranks Raceface Narrow Wide 36T Straightline 1.5" stem Straightline spacers Straightline seat clamp
  25. So... wasn't quite sure where to post this. Theoretically it will be run as a SS (most of the time) but it has an AM/playbike character. This is evident in the 67 degree head angle, ISCG05 tabs and the 140mm recommended front travel. I know the single speed purists will roll their eyes at the thought of suspension forks but the intended use of most Marleys is a play/jump/trail bike. http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd175/Seanf1art/20130829_193707_zpsbe301a11.jpg I recently acquired the frame and have been waiting for all the bits to arrive. Especially as I have a Vanilla 140 RL which I wanted to use on the build. This fork has been sitting in my bike room for 3 years still sealed in plastic in its box. The reason: back in 2010 CRC sent me this fork but it incorrectly had a 1.5" steerer. I never sent it back as I always thought I'd find a frame to use it on. Back them it looked like fat, straight steerers were coming into vogue on trail bikes but it turns out that happened mainly on longer travel big hitting bikes. And then tapered steerers arrived and my fork stayed on the shelf in my bike room. http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd175/Seanf1art/20131008_121855_zps38ca41ea.jpg Until I read on the Ragley website (after ordering the frame) that you can use a 1.5" Nukeproof Warhead 44EEOS headset to fit a 1.5" straight steerer. http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd175/Seanf1art/20131004_122354_zps44b30d91.jpg To my knowledge this is the only headset with 44mm internal diameter which will work. And it does... It's a really snug fit and with the large stem, spacers, top cap etc results in a fairly chunky front end. But it will be pretty damn stiff. http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd175/Seanf1art/20131008_121829_zpsbbda197d.jpg This is as far as I've got. Not exactly stealth http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd175/Seanf1art/20131008_123502_zps071bd17e.jpg
