  1. I think you guys have over thought this. Why do you need a change of clothes? My gardener has been coming to work, on his bike, in his work kit for years. All you need is an elastic to keep the chain and your pants leg separate and you are done!!! If it's raining use a second elastic to fasten an umbrella (ella ella) to your handlebars, right next to the cycle comp usually works well. Try it, it will work. (Take photos) No need to complicate the issue.
  2. I agree, who ever said he was going to sue? Here is another article about it in reply to the Sandton Chronicle. http://www.supersport.co.za/cycling/columns.aspx?id=6123&headline=Use+at+your+Own+Risk I must say i agree!
  3. You guys may as well tar the Spruit. I love that ditch. It's a nice jump. Instead of covering it' date=' rather build a jump. [/quote'] I agree a jump it the way to go. That way i can show everyone in the fratteli parking lot my "big air 360 to nose grind faceplant" Ha HA that won't be embarrassing at all.
  4. Great Job with the bridge!!!! I had a mate fall there (and another 6 places ha ha) last week. I'm not sure if the Sandton chronicles will be interested though as the bridge is out of their area. May need to try the Randburg Sun. If you guys need any help on Saturday let me know. For those of you how ride the Spruit a lot you will know that in front of fratteli is a donga that which has iover the last 3 years gone from a small channel to a river bed. Shouldn't we look at putting something across that? Maybe even a little jump (off the path ofcourse) to help riders get over it without slowing down. I find it a complete pain and will be happy to help mak it better. Also seen quite a few falls there.
  5. Where is the best place to buy Rock shox in Johannesburg? I have looked at fritz pienaar cycles and the recon was like R3300 if i remember correctly. Is that about right? knievel2008-08-11 00:53:21
  6. I don't have disc breaks so i would need something that i can mount me vee breaks on. Is the recon vee break compatible? where is the best place to buy and which version should i buy? race/sl/xc. what is the difference?
  7. Ha HA, There we go, FIXED!!!
  8. I have a Trek 4500 which came with a Rock Shox Judy 1. The bike and the shock are only one year old and it has blown and the bike shop tell me it's can't be fixed. I asked about sending it to Rock Shox and having it replaced under warentee but the man at the bike shop tells me it was due to ware and tear and they wouldn't replace it. So now i need a new shock but im not sure what to get. I don't wanna spend a fortune but if need be i could go up to R3000. (although that's what the bike cost!!) I weigh over 100kg's and don't think buying a dart 3 is the answer. The tora looks like a nice shock but should i not maybe spend a little more and buy a Recon? I don't ride hectic trails but i do work the shock pretty hard. what do you guys think i should do? knievel2008-08-11 00:26:30
  9. I recommended buying a TV so that the problem of trying to get 7 bikes on the car never arises.
  10. Ok so. Do i need to replace my V break system with another V break system or do i just need new pads? If pad's what pads? Coolstop? If whole system what system? can i change it all myself or should i take it somewhere?
  11. That's not bad. I'm sure disks are the way to go in the long run.
  12. So where is my solution and how much am i looking at? i don't want to shoot off the side of a cliff while on my way to victory in the next race!!!
