  1. Sounds like a good deal to me but why not phone around and price it at a few shops. Often the magazine prices are inflated and aren't a true reflection of it's cost?
  2. I think you can only buy those 3 wheeled taxi bikes there. Not sure if they work so well on the trail! knievel2009-12-15 08:47:26
  3. Does the R200 break bleed include the call out fee?
  4. Where are pic's of the completed bike? I've just read all this to discover there are no finished pics. Please post some, NOW!
  5. Why are there no bike on the CW website? Do you not sell bikes/frames etc on line?
  6. I went riding at van galens with a mate a few years ago and we managed to get 3 punctures between us. we were 10k's out with only 2 tubes between us! Eventually i used a trick i had seen on a farm when i was a kid. I pulled my draw string out of my pants and tied it around the hole. I then wrapped it as tight as i could round and round the tube to try stop any air from getting to the hole. Popped the tube back on the rim and pumped it hoping for the best, It worked like a charm! was still hard a week later too but i decided i best replace it just in case! I can tell you it was a far better idea than walking!
  7. i would love one of those but im not wanting to spend much over R15 000 and i don't even have that! ha ha For now Im just seeing what i should be looking at and maybe even looking at something second hand!
  8. WTF? Seriously? Oh' date=' wait, they're the same price at Makro and Sportman's here in JHB as well [/quote'] I find the sportsman's warehouse brand of tubes (MTB) to be far less reliable than the Giant ones that you can buy for an few bucks extra. Any one else find this. knievel2009-11-16 06:33:29
  9. Thanks for the inspirational words... i realise that i am a long way from being race ready i will be sure to fix that before i decide to do another 100km'er. what did they say about Cramp block on Super Cycling? why does it not work? knievel2009-11-16 06:15:10
  10. I think getting off your bike is a terrible idea!!!! Yesterday in the 94.7 i tried it and i could barely stand, didn't know how to strech my legs(both quad and hammie were cramping), and so i decided i needed to sit. Problem there is i couldn't get up again, felt like an up side down beetle! Luckily i managed to get hold of a road sign and continue the race. I then got to a water point where i solved all my cramping issues! I tucked ice blocks into my cycling shorts and that was the last i saw of the cramp. It was only 5km's from the finish but i started cramping at 36km's. I'm rather proud i managed to stick it out that long but i can't even tell you how much longer cramp makes the N14 feel! Cramp has nearly put me off cycling for good!
  11. I've been riding Trek 4500 for the past 4 years and i have loved every minute but i really think it's time for me to move over to a dual susp bike. Im looking for something that is reasonably light, reasonably well spec'd and not too expensive. What do you suggest? Take into account I'm not the lightest cyclist on the block at 96kg's and i mostly ride the spruit, northern farms, and any other local riding spots.
  12. The MTB race has had major congestion issue for the past 3 years, last year i swore i wouldn't do it again be cause of that.
  13. the spruit seems to be much better after the bike police made that bust a few months back. Does anyone know of any recent incidents?
  14. I am looking for a good pair of MTB shorts but i don't have a FORTUNE to spend. What do you recomend? Where is the best place to buy?
  15. Me too' date=' and I suppose that I could have just said that, but that tool is worth another look ;o)[/quote'] I have the Multi 17 and i love it. Im almost happy when something breaks so i can pull it out and show people! And it doesn't have the tool flask so i have no need to worry about it breaking! 16. Randburg, cycle lab costs R450. is that average?
  17. Where is the best place to have a bike set up done? What should it cost?
  18. What about in JHB? Where can i rent a road bike?
  19. I Have had loads of punctures with DR sludge, never tried slime though.
  20. I use that stuff you can buy at Sportsman's called Dr Sludge. When i originally bought it it lasted forever and i had no problems at all but ever since i think i am wasting my time. It doesn't seem to make any difference these days.
  21. What is the best "slime" to use? The original? SLIME or is there a better or cheaper alternative? And, what pressure should a MTB tire be pumped to?
  22. I would love to get involved in some sort of sports marketing/branding or anything to do with sport.
