Anyone have any recommendations for cycling jackets off of Temu? Ideally something that has at least some water resistance, even if it may not be as good as getting one of the big name brands.

Yeah, that checks with my experience. Temu has usually been far more reasonable, often to the extent I think they're doing something shady with how low their customs fees are compared to what I estimate they should be. But if the manufacturers use different courier companies when ordering direct, it might end up being cheaper than through Aliexpress, even if the base price is higher.

Bit off topic, but seems like the best place to ask this question. Has anyone tried ordering directly through the website from some of the major Aliexpress clothing brands? I see that Ykyw and Darevie both have websites with most of the same stuff they have on Ali. The official website seems to be more expensive than the equivalent on Aliexpress, but the last few times I've done an order on Aliexpress I've been hit with a import/customs fee that's nearly the same cost as what I paid for the item, so I've been curious if it would be a more sane amount from the website.

That's the usual way, yeah. Marine Drive -> N1 -> CTICC and then through the Waterfront. Come back similar way. I've never had any issues with it, and have done both ways many times, but doesn't really mean much when you hear how many times other people have had issues, and all it really takes is one time.

I heard from some guys in BL that the motorbikes were actively disqualifying people who went over into the opposing lane. Can't say I saw that happen at any point in EL, even though we had a motorbike with us most of the time and there were plenty of times when people went over into the opposing lane. Especially over any hlls in the beginning when the group was still big.

Anyone know why all the batches end with L? Or at least, everyone I know is in some batch ending in L.

While this is true, I do believe the stretch of the N7 that is commonly used by cyclists is a freeway.

First time racing and I'm in G, so I doubt it goes further than that.

I've seen that post, and genuinely struggle to understand the comments. I don't see how the cyclists even did anything wrong in that instance. Alas the post has been deleted, so don't think other people will be able to see the video anymore.

Anyone have any up to date resources on duties for cycling clothing items? Most of what I can find online states that it's 45%, but I definitely haven't paid that much for my last order. My entire duty payment wasn't even 45% of a single item. Would love to figure out how to calculate it so I can take it into account better.

One thing I've always wondered is what do they intend to do if they see a car coming? A lot of roads have no shoulders and high kerbs, so there's no room to go. Do they intend to try and hop onto the kerb? How is that safer than just riding with traffic? Not to mention you have so much less reaction time and cars aren't expecting people to be coming from that direction, so many won't even bother to look there before pulling into the road.

Ah, fun topic. So far my only significant injury, fractured clavicle in mid-October. It was a very uncomfortable few days leading up to the surgery, as the displaced piece was poking and scraping directly up against the skin. Doctor said I was lucky it didn't actually break through the skin.

Not really. Most of it is okay, but there's a stretch from Paarden Eiland through to the city that has been a hotspot for years. The alternative is to take Marine Drive onto the N1, but that has its own risks, and the area around the Woodstock exit has become a major hotspot recently.
