where can one get the results? i did the 55km, wasn't technical, but i would also not have liked this to be my 1st race either? helped a lot of struggling people along the route, people are really under prepared for these races. the trail wasn't to bad, did not enjoy the walking, way to early in the race, would not have been such a problem later, with the field more spread out. all in all, i will do this one again, but then work needs to done on the trail development side. there are some nice climbs, use them to make it a bit more technical, the opportunity is there!

i really wanted to join the slow group, but had a nasty fall in groenkloof on tuesday and the arm and leg is busted. will be joining the next ride in march

what is the speeds like for the two (easy and fast) groups from the previous ride. i need time in the saddle but can't paddle at high avg speed for that long

It will be a wet one tmr, that 60km gonna feel like 80km!

Yes I have Shimano's. I have adjusted the setting, but will look at it again. I tell you, if it wasn't for the bike's suspension on Saturday, I would have been hurt. It saved me a couple of times. Its a full suspension 96 3000D. I really felt for the guys with the hardtails.

Great, thanks. I was dissillutioned on Saterday, so no registration was possible on what I was doing. I am brand new to MTB, have done a couple of Nissans, so this was a real test. But I liked, and will be prepared next time I did not have any trouble with the technical stuff, thanks to years of off-road motorbike, but I need to work on the fitness. I am also going to trade my clipps for once that clip easier when in trouble uphill! Any suggestions? I am thinking eggbeaters?

I had a very difficult day, was really slow, but hey I finished. Had a nasty off early in the race and it totally broke my speed. It was a really tough one for me, but I liked the route and will definitely do it again next year. Can someone please post the route profile for the 45km or pm me the route? I forgot to put my gps on.

Where in Pretoria East. I ride alot in the area, Moreleta Park, and this really concerns me a lot.

I have even been to Van Gaalens, but really excited about this race. Would like a route map though to know what to be prepared for!

Yeah, I was really dissapointed about the whole day. Drove out there exited to get in a ride at the Karkloof trails and that was the response I got. Maybe the guy had a bad day Thanks for the information, I will try it out when I am in the area again. The Sappi Forest was great though. Enjoyed it a lot. Thanks

I just want to give a Big Thumbs Up to the LBS in Howick. Gave me direction for riding in the Sappi Forest just outside Howick town. Very nice, jeep track, single track, service roads. You can spend lots of time there. I went to Karkloof, and if you are not a resident, or member of their cycling club you are not allowed to ride there. Not friendly people there! So thanks to the LBS in Howick, you guys were really friendly and willing to share your great Sappi Forest rides. Go check it you when you are in the region.

Thats what I think yes, usually cycle in the morning, but with wife coming along it is a deag to get there early to have the safety in numbers! I like to cycle when there aren't hunderds of people around, but looks like it is a risk these days

Was there yesterday afternoon, and rode about 30kms. Did not see a lot of people around and this news does not give me a lot of comfort. Will have to go in the mornings when it is a bit more busy. Not good news at all.

I have a FS 26er that keeps throwing me off! So I recon I'll buy a 29er when I can master the 26er! PS: I'm to slow for a 29er!

Do you know of good mtm trails around the Parys area. I have looked at the Otter's Haunt place, any good? I am going there (Parys area) over the weekend and would like to put in a good ride in scenic country.

I am going to the Magaliesburg and Parys country this weekend, does anyone know of good mtb trails around the two towns. Intermediate/beginner trails.

Thank you, I have spoken to my local dealer and he said that he could get me the 661 gear if I am not interested in his house stock. I will take the boss around to try on and see what she prefers.
