Its around R100 and is worth the investment to protect the sole of your shoes. Gave up my eggies for Shim XT, feel the differance when I ride, but they are a bit heavy, xtr's are impractical as they require regualr servicing and not worth the price. Try look Qaurtz or time ATAC

Slime pro works well, ryder has come out with there new sealant that rplaces their older "slime". Work with tubes and tubeless, haven't given it a try yet but willing to at just R75 a bottle.

What about training overseas? Pre mechanic, frame building etc...?

VPS auto, they do the protection wraps for cars, they wrap your whole bike for around R750 with 3M clear wrap.

Hi guys, I am currently in matric (the middle of finals) and I am starting to have second opinions (myself) about the course I have chosen for post matric. I am at a technical high school and I am a Mechanical Engineering student. I have currently applied to a private design college for Industrial Design. However, due to this being a private college, they have had issues and the course has been cancelled. I chose the industrial design course because I would like to design bikes and or bike components in the future. I work at my lbs (local bike store) on the holidays and whenever I have spare time to earn extra cash, which is almost always spent on stuff for my bike. I would like to know if anybody could advise me on what to do and if they have any experience in the bicycle industry. I am an A-student in math and physics and along with Mechanical Technology I do EGD ( Engineering Graphics and Design) Please help.

yeah, i have made up my my mind, a good pair of road shoes with my XT Spds

will obviously not use road pedals...

Anybody out there that rides road shoes on their mtb? Really keen to do so. What pedal,shoe combination should i go fpr? Will i have to make any modifications to the sole of my shoe, such as an extra rubber surface on the bottom?
