  1. Hi on the 14th of June we were robbed of our bikes in Hartbeespoort Northwest province. A White Merida 96 3000D size medium (18 inch) A white Trek fuel Ex 8 Size small (15.5 inch) Believe those bliksems who stole them/buy them so much as touch them will be judged...
  2. To all who might have had the misfortune of having to talk an insurance company to claim for your stolen bikes, I salute you... It sucks going through a bloody robbery, then you fight your way through loopholes and gaps that insurance try to screw you - for a lack of better words.... (yes they did pay out eventually) But do not fret, there is a silver lining on the edge of these dark, gloomy clouds of despair...called, Cyclelab Centurion to be precise. These guys helped us tremendously and treated us like kings. It was a fantastic experience and I commend them for their exceptional service. Thank you Allan with an A, Christo the setup guru and all the rest ! Will be seeing you soon, and again... W.& L. Oosthuizen
  3. Hi, in process of buying mtb. please advise as to which you think is best. Volcan FS2 or Merida 96 3000 D Check the links: http://www.merida-bikes.com/en_int/bike/2011/21/MTB+Full+Suspension/NINETY-SIX+3000-D http://www.volcanbikes.com/bikes5.html
  4. It sounds to be almost the same... LIONMAN vs MONSTER. I think comparing the riding times will give a more accurate feel of whats to come. Could you guys, who have done both before, post your times please?
  5. My take on the Lionman 2011 (my first marathon - whoop whoop!) was Great ! I enjoyed the good mix of fast flowing dirt road, obstacles, crazy tough climb, Evin crazier downhill, and the now and then mud bath... I think is impossible to make everyone happy. Its what you make of it, sure the climb was barely ride able but there were guys who could do it. That makes me want to train more, so next time ill be one of them! The one thing that i don't enjoy is when some guys dismount for stupid easy obstacles. I realize everyone aren't on the same level but that is the one thing i found a tad bit irritating. Well done Lionman Race organizers. Hope to see you next year.
  6. I concur!! I have been trying to load new photos on a classified, with no success. Please someone have a look !!!!!!
  7. Definitely 26'er. Unless you are very, very tall. And secondly, if bigger is better... why stop at 29 inch ? Who has the specific ratio in wheel size to terrain ? Really. I don't know. So if someone can please explain to me. Why 29 inch as opposed to 31 ?
  8. Hi there, price aside which one is better ? Scott Spark 35 vs Merida ninety-six 3000 D
  9. Hi could someone please tell if id be better of with a new merida 96 3000 D or a scott spark 35. The spark 35 is a carbon frame, but it is a demo model. it has a few scratches but it seems it was not ridden, just handling in the stores. The new merida is well specked but no carbon frame. Is it really that big of an advantage ? Thanx Uninformed...
