What do you think about the new entry fees for the DC. Its now R1800 per team irrespective of the no of riders. I personally think its a ripoff compared to last year. If i'm not mistaken it was between 90 - 120 depending if you a PPA member or not. We enquired about this cause we only have 9 in a team and was politely told, phone the sponsers, they made the decision. They could have at least charge you per rider. I really dont mind paying more for an event every year but how can they justify such a big increase . Are we getting a special goodie bag or they just forcing you to have 12 in a team otherwise you pay more than 150 per rider.

I would go for the Felt with the better components... and besides Specialized is made by Merida anyway, so whats so special about it You get a better speced bike for the same price if not less

Hey guys I did approximetly 4900 km on my groupset since I bought it. Would it be a good idea to replace the chain now or wait a bit. Bike was in LBS on about 4200 km for something else and they said the chain is still fine. I spin and ride light gears most of the time. Generally speaking, what's the life span of a 10sp chain, I did 8000km on my 9sp without replacing the chain once.

I paid R6460 with a 5% discount from my LBS. I bought is last year Dec. I had no problems with the bike so far and the backup service is excellent. Spec wise, nothing compares. You may get a better looking frame from the other manufactures.

The best is to narrow your choice down to 2 or 3 bikes and then decide Its all about personal choice and what looks good for YOU

Anyone know of guys or bikeshops around CT that spray frames. They must be good. I have a specialized E5 aluminium frame that i want to have done.

I agree with the olympics. I bought myself a pair 2 months and did my first mtb ride in Dec , the fit is comfortable and perfect if you need to walk up the hills ;-)
