  1. Loer bietjie na die Specialized Epics, hulle het nog fietse op special. Onlangs na dual-sus gegaan - raam gekoop en opgebou. Van al die duals is die specialized opstelling (geometry, brain shock ens) die beste gewees.
  2. Seems stiching and a patch is the best way forward.. now to get someone who can do proper needlework
  3. Jip, not cool.. And not keen on putting a tube in
  4. "lost some strengt" in the tyre due to hole -tried one of those "glueless" patches, but pressure pushed it out- maybe will try a "traditional" patch
  5. I just lost a brand new ust tyre due to a nail...went in the tread and out the sidewall- the tread repair is easy - normal worms.. But the sidewall "cut/hole" is about 5mm in diameter - anyone with advice how to repair- want to use the tyre still for training - especially since it is a new tyre..
  6. Thompson seatpost...
  7. 92kg.. Got a 355 with hope pro 2 on the rear and now got a crest with hope pro 2 evo at the front. Amazing wheels and can take quite the bash, just make sure your wheelbuilder has a good reputation. Speak with Ruan Deyzel from Spokeworks - he really knows his stuff and priced very competetive. My wheels are running true- like new since i got them a year ago. Rather go for the hope pro 2 evo hubs
  8. I would go for the Silverback Mercury. I recently bought a new Specialized Epic 2010 frame for R9900 (specialized has a winter sale) and I am loving it! Also depends if you want a very "soft" ride or a very efficient- the Silverback pivot system seem to be pretty much sorted out- found the linkage setup like the merida 120s to be very "inefficient" especially if you are planning on doing cross country marathon race etc. Best would be to take the bike for a test ride. Goodluck with the bike!! Must say my epic is my first dual and loving it!!
  9. Specialized epic/ (epic marathon 2010) a better frame? Also looked at the merida 96 - also nice.. Dont see a lot of pros on the volcans. Kevin Evans only rode for a year on a Volcan?
  10. Any issues with the bike on the pivots and bearings? How efficient was the bike on climbs, handling etc?
  11. I am looking to buy a soft tail mtb. Been riding a hard tail up to now. Saw a good special on the Volcan FS2 on buycycle. I am not able to get any reviews or comments about the FS2, or how good and efficient the linkage is etc? Anyone with advice? Love to hear from peeps who ride Volcans
