  2. just drink enough Hammer Perpetreum it's an good instant food source, i used it on the long distances , specially trail running 6 or more hours, it's very good
  3. ran montagu pass tonight, 10.9km op kliming 500m , took me 1hour and 15 sec, got on my bike and came down took me 20min, fastest speed 59km per hour, one thing is for sure my bike is not too stable at jumoing speed bump on the way down and i need way better disck brakes, was lekker though now im gonna braai some fish and have lekker red wine
  4. Whats the fastest on a jeeptrack(gravel and tarr not included) that you have clocked on your gps?
  5. got myself the 2011 frame last week and builded my scott component s over on it, very nice frame, maybe a bit heavy but solid Raced it saterday on the shorter 30km distance and came 3 overall so not bad for me and my 'new' bike
  6. my wife is also short, drives a KTM dual xrta small frame and doing well, very nice bikes
  7. Thats a very very nice bike!
  8. I really like this mag and was thinking of subcribing but with all the hassles and not getting it on time, maybe i will just check the bike shop every now and then
  9. Currently i'm using maxis lust back and front and find it to be very good I'm a bit crazy on the downhills (mostly xc) and would like to know what you guys would use as a front tyre without loosing too much speed
  10. my wife has got an ktm , she seems very happy, end of the day most modern day bikes are built well, it more what the rider can do with his machine-bike
  11. Stunning pic, what tyre do you have on the back
  12. Didnt do all of it but would rate it the same, skipped the featherbed cause we did a trail run of 18km's the sunday before so the legs wasn't ready yet Were truly blessed with the mountainbiking and also the trailrunning paths we have in our area Here'a links of todays 27km run http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150235608037027.314107.613637026&l=3fe92a9165
  13. fter having so much problems with my bike i really wished they would draw my name, cant believe how many okes have left before the lucky draw Hope your wife enjoy het KTM, my wife astually also uses and KTM Baught a silverback frame and some new compaonent -will be up and racing this weekend again
  14. we dont bother too much on short races with camelback's and stuff Seat is too low -no space this is for my wife but i find it hard sometimes to race and suck on a bike , on the bike and with trail running -will much rather have 2 bottles that you ca squeeze straight into your mouth thanks for the advice so far
  15. What do you okes think of this frame, i know it's basic but sometimes basic does the job http://www.silverbacklab.com/2011/spectra.jpg i had a '96 Scott scale hardtail and most races it does way better than the jippy bikes, sure i would like a Specialized but most of those bikes is just unaforable I', fairly lucky , normally ending in the top 20 over shorter distances, and that was with my old frame witch i unfortunately cracked on the Knysna Xterra The point is it not always about the bike , sometimes it how you ride it if it your day I have never seen so many top of the range bikes being pushed and guys giving up than on the Attekwas, mostly Specialized and Scott bikes
  16. jip but it for mountain biking, it wont stay in there for very long in that position
  17. My wife's KTM x small frame cant take a proper water bottle The holder on the bottom cross bar is in such a position that everytime when she uses the bottle she has to battle getting it in and out of the holder, it also rubs onto the dual on/off system so it's not ideal I have baught a clamp for the steering bar, what i need to know is what position would be the best for the bottle, facing forward like on the crossbar -or will it work facing slightly backwards towards her Thanks for the info ouens
  19. was a bit crazy, killed my legs, specially for the half on saturday, gotta do way more training for next year
  20. Anyone of you who did it? The riding was fairly easy excepth for chain suck from 10km's and onwards Next year im doing the big 5
  21. It only a bike , no service plan no warranty on the frame for second owner, a custom bike is like a brand new bmw that gets traded in with R100 000 worth of sound system, you just not getting anything back, once a bike is ridden and used it should loose 40% or so of the value you paid for it, with carbon even more
  22. Why you selling and what size
  23. Does any of you have this bike and whats it like for racing ect?
  24. I've been looking at bikes for some time now, seems like most okes here on the hub advertize way above the real prices of the bike , with certain models that a year or 3 old with extra components they want the same prices as just about a new bike Crazy if you ask me
