Did a four day trip from Blouberg to Langebaan. And not withstanding the weight, the possibility of punctures that I luckily didn't experience I found that the sand really buggers up your equipment. Just stay out of sensitive dune areas and don't ride over plants. If the intent is to ride within any coastal national park make sure from management if they allow riders on the beaches/salt pans or dried up marsh land. E-bikes on beaches are a no-no.
