  1. Got a spotless Ultegra 6700 groupo off the Hub for a good deal. No official weight as yet.. rough estimate around 7.5kg Cosmics not the lightest wheelset unfortunately...
  2. Build 99 % done, picked up frame Friday. Ready to ride but still need to change pedals, tires and saddle. Some details on the order from Shenzhen ZhongWei dealt directly with them, contact Chris Mei(chris@carbon-bicycle-parts.cn) Frame & Fork(includes headset) : Z-CB-R-002 3k Weave matte($360) custom paint job($30) Carbon Seat post(includes crappy seat clamp) : Z-SP-006($27) Carbon Integrated stem handle bar : Z-HB-008($100) Carbon bottle cages x 2 : Z-BR-002($21) Shipping to SA : $105 Paypal charge(4% of payment) : $26 Ordered : 28 August 2013 Shipped from China : 12 Sep 2013 Arrived in Cape Town : 3 October 2013 Notes on shipping : Was quoted on EMS shipping goods was eventually shipped through China Post. – Not sure on the difference but tracking EMS seems bit easier than with China Post. Was told shipping would take 10 days, took bit longer but taking into account that the region experience one of its worst typhoons in 50 years, acceptable. Goods arrived without any damage came well packed in Styrofoam and bubble wrap the box goods shipped in took a beating. Overall impression: This is my first build/order from China, I’m really happy as to how the final build came out, finishes and paintjob exactly as I wanted. Feels much lighter than my old aluminium bike saying this it’s not the lightest china frame out there (58cm frame & fork 1555g). Will weigh her once I’ve got the intended seat, pedals and tires on. Still haven’t taken her for a spin hopefully have a ride report after Thursday morning… Thanks to the guys at CWC Greenpoint who helped out with some of the final touches!
  3. Haha Hairy you keen? Don't think you 'd be able to slap a 150mm fork on that and take it on a SSM ride.. Frame/Fork/Headset - including paint job $390
  4. So this post is a few months in the making... After many nights of online research with alot of direction from this thread, I decided to take the plunge and order my first China Carbon! I narrowed down my options to the FM098 and FM066 SL (most popular road frames it seems) I then came across the below review on Velobuild which threw a bit of a spanner in the works... http://www.velobuild...zr-002-compared I contacted Zhongwei and their fast replies and competitive quotes persuaded me to go for the Z-CB-R-002 with a custom paint job and a few added carbon bits and pieces(intergrated handlebar/stem, seatpost and some bottlecages) Today I received confirmation from Zhongwei that my frame is ready for shipment! They sent me a few pre-shipment pics. I thought I'd share So now the wait! Expecting the frame within the next 2 weeks - China Post Still need a groupset and some wheels for the build. Been looking at set of 50mm carbon clinchers from DengFu any of you landed a set or advise on alternatives? Budget looking pretty tight if I want to get a half decent groupo on.
  5. Where can you get a FM066? might be interested in one.
  6. Also been looking at this frame from Hongfu got a quote of $500(Including headset) shipping of $90. Not sure if they have them readily available though, was told that from when I place the order there will be a month waiting time... Is this the norm for ordering frames from them?
  7. No results for the 80km?
  8. Was in the same situation few months ago.. Bought the Silverback Mercury 3 from CycleFactory, and loving it!! Best value for money on a FS with decent suspension and components. Good luck!!
