  1. Baie lekker event en goed georganiseer met lekker pryse! Volgende jaar terug vir meer! Sien racetec se tye is bietjie deurmekaar, weet van so 5 mense wat goeie tye gery het wat geen uitslae het nie?
  2. Did 3/4 of the 64 km route last Sunday in the rain and I can honestly say mud won't be a problem. The route will be wet with bits of sand but mostly hard rocky underground. Currently they forcast rain for Friday afternoon and then lots of rain again from Saturday 11am for the rest of the day. If you're not to slow you might just be in before the rain starts!
  3. Did the route this past weekend, always one of the most scenic routes you can do in this area with a bit of everything. Hope they work on the downhill jeeptrack to waterval though. I normally love technical, rocky downhills, but had to use all the available skill just to get down there in one piece, nevermind race it! Going to be quite a challenge in the wet!
  4. More than welcome, I'm in the mountain every weekend and as a landowner permission is no problem. Let me know when you want to join.
  5. More than welcome, always looking for a partner to try out some new routes.
  6. How about a couple of extra climbs just for you next year. We've used google earth to map the route and got the elevation from that, was wondering how accurate it is, obviously not that accurate. Next year you can visit me the weekend before the race then we can map it with your garmin... and work that extra climbs in we owe you...
  7. Couldn't agree more, whenever I get home from a race with a medal I give it to the kids, they play with it for half an hour and then it end up in one of there play bins. After 10 or more races they really are more in the way than anything els. I'd prefer paying R10 less without getting any medal. Have a shot at me.... Just to put things in perspective. One really don't have a clue before a new event like this how many cyclists will participate. One of the purposes of the race was to raise funds for the local school, so the last thing you want to do is sit with couple of hundred extra medals. At R10/medal it is quite a lot of money. Any way will get it right next year.
  9. If possible, can you phone racetec with one or two names that didn't get the right times. Timing was their responsibility and they ask enough money to sort it out.
  10. Johan, Hulle het net 200 medaljes gemaak en ek dink daar het bietjie n fout gekom met die uitdeel daarvan. Was bietjie onkant gevang met die goeie opkoms,so dink dit sal volgende jaar beter gaan.
  11. Got a MTB club going and some guys building some very nice st, so watch this space....
  12. Sorry for all the mud, took some muddy st out just before the race, but unfortunately winter in the cape equals mud... Well done to everyone completing the 70km,not the easiest 70 out there. Had some nice feedback after the race, any thoughts on making it even better next year?
  13. JGR, The 40 km will be a perfect race for you, some nice non technical ST, the rest is jeep track and farm roads. Hope to see you there!
  14. CapeLandy, there's some nice fast flat sections between the climbs, sure you'll make it! The 40km is also a nice route if you want to downgrade! Everyone welcome to join us for the afterparty at Theuniskraal! http://www.facebook.com/find-friends/browser/?rpix=1#!/theuniskraalwines/app_208195102528120
  15. We've made the long route a bit easier without compromising on views or single track. It's more or less 65km with 1500m climbing.
  16. Hi Hubbers, We've added some nice new single track to the route and with the good weather forecast hope to see some of you on Saturday. Bring the family with, as it is the Christmas in winter festival with lots to see and do in town. Most of the wine farms got live music and lots to offer to the hungry and thirsty cyclists!
  17. The lockout mechanism rotate completely with no effect, also did the air pressure both sides with no effect. Must be the oil level then, how do I top it up?
  18. Any of the shox experts please give some advice? My RS Reba RL on my Scott Spark 29 expert (1 month old) suddenly don't want to lockout any more after it was working perfectly for the first month. I have adjusted the remote lever to pull the mech. on the fork to its max and it makes no difference. Not having the convenience of LBS near me is there any adjustments I can make which will have an effect on the lockout? Probably running low on oil? DIY? Thanks
  19. Any one know the price of the Silverback Storm 29er?
  20. +++++++++++1
  21. Scott scale 29er expert carbon (XT/SLX, Rocshox Reba), weight around 11kg, Cost R20500 at Kroft cycles Paarl.
  22. Thanks to the A bunch did a 2:59:12, to close for comfort, but will take it on the day for my first sub3! Last weeks MTB Argus still in the legs, last guy in under 3 for the 65km so all in all very happy!
  23. PPA seeding sucks! Started the season in MTB C from previous Argus times. For the fist time did some ppa MTB events, Wolseley (5th), Citrusdal (9th) and Bo-Piketberg (3rd). After seeding run I stayed in C? Apparently the events wasn't big enough to be seeded. So how many of the PPA mtb events will be big enough for seedings? Did the Franschoek porcupine the other day and came 20th in a strong field, after the latest seedings they didn't use the franschoek race for my mtb seeding but used it for my road seeding? That after I did a 2:29 burger and came 18th in the klein Joostenberg, so with previous argus times should have enough races for the road seeding? In all the mtb races I did, I finished between most of the A mtb guys, but still have a C seeding, can anyone please explain?
  24. Does anyone know where to view the results?
