  1. Agree 10 000%. I bit the bullet in 2021 and got a 5kW inverter, 7kWh LiFePo batteries, solar panels, all wired into the DB properly. LiFePo batteries was 50% of the total system cost, but worth every sent. Cry once when installing(due to cost) , reap the benefits for LONG afterwards. We had the property valuator from FNB over recently. He reckons a proper installed solar system can add between 10% and 15% to the value of the property. So take that into consideration when deciding on what you want to do. Things at Eskom are going to get worse before/if it gets better. Why spend R15k now on a trolley, if you are going to spend much more on a bigger system in the near future. Rather then buy the right inverter and batteries first, and expand later.
  2. Reminded me of this:
  3. Never able to play tok-tokkie when we were kids, 2m fences were already a thing. BUT, we took a toy snake, attached a fishing line to it and placed it across the street in the grass next to the sidewalk. Then waited a victim. Yis, we got k@kked out by domestic workers and ooms. Once the fishing line got tangled around the leg of one lady... the bloody snake chased her as she was trying to get away.
  4. Cmon, clearly you enjoyed it, otherwise you wouldn't have watched until the end. Just scroll back and watch it again... catchy tune gets you every time.

    Formula 1...

Yeah, a rainy Singapore night race brings everything into the realm of possibility. I think it could be very unpredictable race, which is what we want.

    Formula 1...

How likely to take the Drivers title for the year? To take the title this weekend, he must win the race with Leclerc finishing no higher than eighth or ninth -- depending on who claims the extra point for the fastest lap -- and Perez outside the podium places I'd say 30% chance...
  7. I can be at each one of these locations within 3mins of climbing on my bike...
  8. ...that Aussie kids are brats...? Hardly a slam dunk either way. But it does look very dodge to be chasing after teenage girls in your boxer shorts... But, I'm not about the Cancel MvdP because of this.
  9. I just placed the audio on mute to ignore the YouTuber talking.
  10. I saw a small snippet of the supposed video the one girl took while playing tok-tokkie. All I can say thinking about this whole situation in general: it is an insanely weird thing to happen to someone of MvdP's stature the night before a World Championship race. Bizarre, to say the least.
  11. Fair enough. I chimed in when it was said that MvdP will have a long think on his flight back about whether he meted out a PK or not. I still think he will not have a long think on that one. Save to say, IF video emerges of him slapping a child in another country, I'd say throw him to the wolves...
  12. https://www.foxsports.com.au/cycling/cycling-superstar-arrested-in-sydney-after-stoush-with-teens-over-hotel-knock-and-run-prank/news-story/1c6a81e9a8e51af8711ef86f70e8ed9b Granted, I'm not a huge MvdP fanboy, so I have no horse in this race. But my thinking is it is still a he-said/she-said. Without security camera footage, I'm leaning towards believing MvdP. He might have grabbed an arm to get them to listen to him. So maybe he touched them. But I will be very surprised if footage came out that he actually "assaulted" them in any way.
  13. He, and the two girls.... Police gave him his passport back and sent him on his way with a fine. There is no way in hell the Aussie nanny state will let an adult leave the country that laid hands on two teenage girls.
  14. He claims to have not touched them. Will be a very short ponder...
  15. Commentator:"Remco Evenepoel, the Belgium wonderkid" INTERNET:Are you not maybe over-selling this kid? Remco goes on to do the following in 2022: Wins Monument, Wins a Grand Tour, Wins the World Championships! (And finishes 3rd in the ITT at world's) People, Remco has arrived! (PS. He is still only 22)
  16. MvdP has abandoned the race, after teenage girls played "tok-tokkie" on his hotel room door and him losing his cool, got himself arrested. EDIT:see the link from Thomo above for details

  19. Quote from SRAM: https://support.sram.com/hc/en-us/articles/6086381999387-What-about-radio-interference-Could-a-rival-team-hijack-my-signal-and-create-a-mechanical-for-me-Can-my-signal-be-jammed- SRAM RED eTap uses a proprietary wireless communication protocol that SRAM created called Airea. It was created and tested by computer scientists, cryptographers and even hackers to be extremely reliable and secure. It uses several layers of state-of-the-art encryption and obfuscation as well as very powerful spread-spectrum radios to eliminate the possibility of hacking the system and make interference or malicious jamming extremely difficult.
  20. Well I'll be a monkey's uncle. They must have read my post, seen the logic in it, and then decided to do a whole bloody article around my findings without giving me any credit, . But like they say, why the hell would the chain do that? Very odd.
  21. Something else happened, but not too sure exactly what it was. Tyre was still intact when she lost control. I've watched it in slowmo multiple times and it seems the chain malfunctions, which throws her weight forward(bad idea), which then makes her lose control. Check the video in the Twitter post, drag the video to see the situation frame-by-frame:
  22. Apologies, I was thinking the Wille Honde style mount on the wall was under consideration. Scratch my comment then. The strength of the attachment to the ceiling, and the ceiling itself, will be an interesting consideration then.
  23. When items approach 20kg, I think it is the user that will become the limiting factor. Lifting 20 kg up to where you would want to place the bike is harder than people realise. Well, luckily in the case of the tandem, there "should" be another rider there to help you. In theory at least...
  24. Never heard of her...
  25. So, hands up, who is willing to bet against Top Ganna to break the Hour Record?
