  1. Strongs to the cyclist for the road to full recovery ahead. I can't tell anyone what the right thing is in their own scenario. But for me, personally: I reached the point about 2 years ago where road cycling just wasn't worth the risk anymore. I have two kids and a Wife at home, I need think of them when I choose my hobbies.
  2. The GC battle could be quite spicy this year with Pidcock being mentioned as a GC threat. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this list of potential GC leaders correct?šŸ˜± Jumbo Visma - Jonas Vingegaard UAE - Tadej Ineos - Pidcock BORA - Primoz Soudal Quickstep - Remco

    Formula 1...

Biggest Bombshell in F1 that I can think off. No-one saw this coming. Plus, they still need to go through the entire 2024 season before the switch happens. Mick might get a couple of races this year...
  4. I showed the website to a Colleague/Friend of mine yesterday. He was absolutely flabbergasted at the amount of features on it. We are really spoilt. It is my absolute go-to platform for planning and progress evaluation.
  5. Waiting for more info before commenting more. All the best in troubling times to a family with small kids that lost their mother
  6. Agree. But sitting in 2nd, ready to pounce if anything happens to Jonas, is a great place to be. Stuff happens at the Tour all the time, and UAE will try their darndest to make the most of any opportunity presented to them
  7. Solid squads for his Giro and Tour aspirations: (Jumbo are going to have to come well prepared) UAE preselections for 2024 Giro and Tour | #Giro #TDF2024 GIRO D'ITALIA (4/5 - 26/5) Pogacar, Bjerg, Grossschartner, Majka, Molano, Novak, R.Oliveira, Vine TOUR DE FRANCE (29/6 - 21/7) Pogacar, Almeida, Ayuso, Politt, Sivakov, Soler, Wellens, A.Yates
  8. I'm going to go ALL-IN for POGI if he decides to go for it as described! That, and Wout winning Roubaix and Worlds please!
  9. The Tour-Olympics interval might be difficult to be at 100% for both, especially if he goes deep at the Giro. If I had to wager, I'd say he goes into Le Tour under-prepared, using it as preparation for what follows. #uneducatedguess
  10. Giro->Olympics->Vuelta on the cards? Just weird if he doesn't ride LeTour at all. Unless he goes there just for stage wins.
  11. Been seeing it in the work-place especially. everyone's fuses are bladdy short. We all need a holiday. (0-time Munga finisher, following because a Friend is doing the Equip. He did the Full last year... It is the guy that was photographed face-down in the dirt road in the middle of the day)
  12. R10 Body only with RF100mm-400mm Lens I had a look at the R7, but it will stretch my budget too far. The R10 seems more than capable for what I want to do: Mostly capturing my kid's sport and then also wildlife(not necessarily birds yet) I have family members with RF lenses(L series), so I will look at borrowing said lenses when required
  13. Good idea. I also sweat like a MoFo. Might just stock up on these, just in-case.
  14. Just pop a CrampEase every 30minutes, only thing that resolved my cramps on long hot rides like 947. (I've done plenty of 21ks and one 32k, never get cramps while running)
  15. I'm in the market for a specific Canon Camera and Lens. I went so far as to set up a EXCEL spreadsheet to keep track of prices. Prices in September/OCTOBER were proper specials, 20% lower than current "Specials". Stuff right now is just inflated retail prices with supposed "savings". Delayed gratification will win out in the end. I'll keep a tight grip on my Randelas till somewhere in the new year when they want to make revenue targets again thank you very much.
  16. Talking out of personal perspective: -Cycling in general has seemingly become unacceptably dangerous. Road cycling, even more so. I'm only referring to the training part, but this leads to less people saddling up for races. Having small kids, I cannot risk it anymore, it's not worth it. -Having 8x 947's under the belt, including a double Lap, and a couple of sub 3's, there remains little in terms of "Goals" to chase for me. I need a goal to work towards to motivate me. Unfortunately for the organizers, little to nothing they can do with regards to the above two points. Different tactic they can try: maybe they could target big corporates harder, try to get them hyped up and challenge their "competitors to see who can have the biggest numbers at the race. ABSA vs NEDBANK, Discovery vs Momentum. They might need to start to think outside the box to attract entrants.
  17. Some Inverters have a setting where you can dictate how many AMPS it can charge the batteries at from "GRID". I set mine to the lowest possible value(I think it is set to 16A at 48V) to be able to use my 2200W generator. It strains, but doesn't pull the generator down too much.
  18. What has been the highlights of La Vuelta? Here's mine: 1) Unlikely GC Kuss in Red and whether he will be allowed to hold on to it till Madrid. 2) Remco shipping time in GC, then bouncing back with stage wins. 3) Jumbo Visa dominant in taking the entire GC podium. Outside that, nothing too memorable, or did I miss something?
  19. Yeah, there is something there with Roglic. Jonas on the other hand sat up at the finish to give Sepp some seconds back.
  20. Is it my imagination, or is Roglic and Jonas riding for Sepp here?
  21. Jonas now moved up to ride in front of SK. Cmon Sepp!
  22. I've got a bad feeling that Sepp's time in red will end at the end of today on the bloody last mountain stage. It was fun while it lasted buddy. If Sepp can't be in Red, then I'd prefer Jonas instead of Roglic... for the possibility to have him hold all three Jerseys at the same time by going for Pink next year.
