  1. What the actual...?! These UCI officials need to go get a life. You're seriously threatening the race leader with disqualification for something like this?! Aren't there sock lengths they can scrutinize or shifter hoods that are tilted just a little bit too much to keep them occupied anymore.🧐
  2. 2min42 for the break, with 59km remaining. Odds are not currently in their favour
  3. Modern medicine is truly incredible. Think about Siya Kolisi and Pollard in 2023, we all asumed they won't make the RWC, and yet they truly brought their A-game.
  4. Two Oceans maybe? Been following his investigations and the "cover-up" seems mind boggling. Why not just come clean and say "we messed up", most people accept an honest apology.
  5. Credit to Francois Jordaan and team for the honest and detailed write-up of what transpired. (Other race organisers should take note of how to respond when the paw-paw hits the fan) I'll do the Wally again.
  6. Not in reply to yours specifically, but in reply to doping insinuations in general. The top dogs in a sport are prime suspects for doping, but I'd wager that the bottom-of-the-pile riders have more incentive than generational riders like Pog/MvdP to dope because they need results to stay in-the-game.
  7. Supersport is currently broadcasting on 206... Some negotiations must have been successful
  8. Yep, can't emphasise enough that a cyclist needs to tread extra careful when transitioning into running. A "normal" unfit person will start slow enough to prevent injury because the cardiovascular system will keep the intensity and duration low enough for joints and other parts to build resilience. BUT, for a seasoned cyclist, that 'throttle' isn't there.
  9. Race results now have an additional column, "Adjusted time for 42.2km" Not Official yet, but let's see if it sticks. https://results.finishtime.co.za/results.aspx?CId=35&RId=4550
  10. Yep, it is weird that the car took a turn at a junction where he was supposed to go straight. What prompted him to turn? I can't remember seeing marshals there, but I might be mistaken. The route didn't change from last year, so that can't be used as an excuse. I can't comment on whether the people who failed to qualify are being over-dramatic as I am not in their shoes. But it is a registered qualifier with an impeccable history, so don't I think it was irresponsible to trust and plan around using this event as a qualifier. I think the least the Race Director can do is to look at the last time-split recorded at 36.2km and compare it to your finish time, and then do a pro-rata adjustment to give the Marathon runners an 'adjusted' finish time. Any adjustment outside of that will be difficult to justify, IMHO. Me personally, I would prefer if you could submit your FIT file and they align your official race time with the point when you completed the anticipated race distance. But doing this for all affected runners seems unfeasible in terms of resources and not everyone will be running with a GPS watch. Let's see what they come up with.
  11. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/3aqr6KpgVgUXKRAF/?mibextid=oFDknk Wally organisers officially respond. I think it was more than 500 runners that were affected TBH.
  12. According to the TheRunningMan he spoke to the Race Director and they take full responsibility. They are working on a resolution for all. Going to be tricky.
  13. Organisers of the Wally will have some explaining to do. Seems the lead car for the 21/42k start Batch A got confused and took the front of the field on a 3km detour at the start... No biggie for me, I just stopped my watch at 21.1kms and walked it in. Keen to hear how they resolve winners medals and qualification times with such a cock-up.
  14. Apparently both current drivers are on the way out. Hulk in and apparently Sainz coming in to start the prep for 2026 Audi takeover. (Lewis is taking his Ferrari seat in 2025
  15. They are usually quite harmless, my kids have hundreds of them, but it can get quite irritating if they start placing them everywhere, like on the airplane seat in front of us. They call it Stickers.... On a serious note: Seems like a rubbery double sided sticker to which he then places what seems like a flat magnet. I'm guessing the crank has a Cadence Sensor that is required for the built-in power meter. 🤷‍♂️
