  1. For the last few years I have happily spent almost all my time in the saddle on my Niner SIR9 single speed-still the best bike that I have ever owned. I've recently moved down to Simons Town and this has given me the best opportunity possible to pull the old Langster out, dust it off and amble on down to the coffee shop. Sounds romantic doesn't it? I don't want to be walking around in my MTB shoes though so looking for some good advice on pedals-prefereably cleat less. I'm also not too keen on big oversize MTB flat pedals neither Does anyone have some good suggestions for me? Thanks Liam

  6. It was my first 94.7. I was unseeded so only started at 9:30 with MM. Rode on my niner single speed. Was quite tough with the knobbies and the HEAT! I started cramping with 15 km to go. Finally finished on 4:57. Think I could have shaved a half hour off if it wasn't for the cramps.
  7. That XTC is something special. Do the new models come with with sliding dropouts? I'm spending some quality time with my SIR 9 at 94.7 tomorrow. Honestly I'm not looking forward to spinning out on the flats too much
  8. I'm doing it on my specialized langster. Currently running a 40:18 but I think I'll drop it to a 38:18 It's going to be tough. What time are you starting?

  25. A few of us are keen to ride the route of the IWR next year, we'd prefer to ride it informally instead of doing one of the tours. Does anybody have any advice for me? Also is it recommended to choose a time when tides are low eg. spring tide? Any advice would be appreciated Thanks
