Not this one but i ride a Racer X - bomb proof! take it if you can afford it. wont regret it.
  2. i have a brand new bracket to hold the unit to the handlebars if anybody wants it. PM me - based in Durbanville but we can meet half way if required. Cheers
  3. Only fair to give credit where its due. I bought a Scott mtb for the girlfriend over the weekend from Geco Cycles. First dealt with Russel and then ended up with Fred. Fred handled the lot from set up to advice etc. Thank you very much for the great help and for making another happy mountainbiker out there. Cheers
  4. Thanks guys, will give them a call. Is that Garmin in Capricorn Park?
  5. I dropped my Garmin and as one see, the liquid crystal inside has been damaged. Unit still works but one can only see half of what is displayed. Can it be fixed( and if yes by who) or RIP. Cheers Mike
  6. No play at all, spins freely but when stationery, if i forcefully pull the wheel to or away from me, there is a clicking noise.
  7. Hand full of Argus tours, Knysna tours, Karoo to coasts, plenty riding in Magic forests, hillcrests, conties etc, rain, wind you name it. but now im just worried about maintenance and if i should have it sorted.
  8. I have DT Swiss Hubs on my mtb now for 10 years. Never being opened or replaced since i bought them new. They both still spin freely. Stupid question - if its not broken, should i leave it or replace with new? Touch wood, never had a problem with them at all. Are they easy to replace( can i do it myself) or send in? Also, where is the best place(s) to buy the bearings? I stay in Cape Town. Cheers Mike
  9. Will measure up tonight and report back. PM so we can hook up please. Would like another opinion. Maybe i just ride k@k .....hahahaha!
  10. I will measure tonight and report back on width.
  11. ok - here is some more info. Im 1.79m tall, 90kg and ride a Titus Racer X with full suspension. Alot of my riding is done in Majic Forest, Hillcrest, Conties, Meerendal and the rest on the road. It just does not feel right when cornering. Someone mentioned set up, and i would like to think its correct as my knees are not sore and neither is the rest of my body due to incorrect position. Having said that, it does not mean i could be sitting better. I have straight bars and the neck is 90mm. Other than that the bike is a dream machine.
  12. This might sound like a stupid question but what should be the correct width of bars for my mtb? i have straight bars. I am convinced they are to narrow and as a result, i battle to take corners off road without feeling as if i want to eat dirt. I have tried various tyres, tried different pressures in both tyres and fork to no avail. Barking up the wrong tree or what? Cheers Mike
  13. Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate it
  14. I have a Titus Racer X If money is not the issue, can i fit either of the 2 mentioned BB's on my bike, and if yes, which would give me the best value for money in the long term. I currently have a CK headset with zero problems. And which model of the 2 should i look at. Cheers Mike
  15. If you find out would you mind letting me know as well. I stay in the area and would love to do this as well.
  16. What is the cost of these cameras and where are the best places to buy them?
  17. Anybody out there who likes to ride early on the weekend ( 5am or earlier)? looking for a partner or group in the stellenbosch area. I only have mtb but if you ride road only, also not a problem. Please let me know Mike
  18. i am looking for a cycling partner(s) ( pref mtb but does not matter ) who resides in the Stellenbosch area who is willing to ride early sat/sun mornings ( my early 5am )and get home by 10am. Road or off road or both. Had the unfortuanite experience recently of a BEE customer wanting to aquire 100% ownership of my beloved titus racer x in the pappagaai area but after inviting him to join www.youwilldiewithleadpoisining.com , he declined. Mommy says its too dangerous to ride alone and is not keen on me bringing my "friend" with me as she says there will be too many BEE expired souls. all in all, i would gladly appraciate anybody who is willing to ride at that hour, wind, rain, snow, the works.and you welcome to bring along your "friend'. just getting to dangerous to ride on the road thats why i switched to mtb, but ya, different k*k. Please pm me or contact me on michaeln@amka.co.za cheers mike
  19. Many thanks. I am based in Cape Town and i see later on in the year they will have a course. Shot
  20. On the topic of having ones forks serviced at a lbs or doing it yourself, with a bit of spanner knowledge, how really hard is it for one to service ones shocks, and secondly, where would one go and buy all the parts? also , what oil does one use, or would that vary from what type and size shockj one has. Would be really interested in the feedback as i am blessed that i can service my bike completely , bar the shocks and bleeding of the breaks which i will also get into later. Its a great feeling when you can do things on your own in your own time.
