  1. As I'm sure most of you know winters in the Western Cape can be really crappy Wet, Windy, Cold and Stormy. I'm all for training in drizzle and the cold, but when it gets bad it gets real bad. Is spinning at gym a good alternative to training in the mountains for a MTB race? If so how long should you spin for and what kind of spin session should you do (intensity)? Thanx

  4. My mate mentioned to me the Karoo to Coast is an awesome ride to take part it. From what i've been told it's only smooth gravel roads you ride on. Is it a very challenging ride? I'm gathering it's a gradual downhill ride to the coast. Some rider feedback would be much appreciated. Thanx

  8. I've got my first mtb race coming up. I'm curious as to what one needs to take with while riding races ranging between 40-50kms? Obviously fluids are vital, but is that all that i'd need? Will I need to take those energy sachets etc? Just curious as to if I need to take some kind of substance to eat. Regards
  9. I recently bougth a transponder from RaceTec, In the process of doing this I discovered that RaceTec do not do timing for ALL cycling events. I'm the end I'm concered wheather I bought the correct transponder. Can anyone advise a transponder to buy that handles most MTB races in the Western Cape. From what I've gathered there are numerous business that handle race and timing and have thier own transponders. Please advise. Thanx

  13. Would you suggesting running on running shoes then leave you cycle shoes at the transition zone with your bike?

  15. I'm considering doing a couple of upcoming duathlons and wanted to know about the kit you wear during the day. Do you run in your running kit then change into your cyling gear when you cycle or do you just wear your cycling gear for everything? Also when you run the is your bike in like a paddock with all the other races bikes etc? Please advise Thanx

  22. I Need to buy a bike carrier, the one that attaches to the back of a hatchback. I've had a look at the Thule and the Holdfast. It seems the Thule is the Rolls Royce of bike carriers. Whats the most popular/best one to buy? Regards
