  1. Sir crash-a-lot, who do you think will fall harder when a rider collides with a runner? Even if the rider's handlebars just clips the runner? I know I would prefer to be the runner in this situation - purely because I will get off better from the collision.
  2. Overlapping segments. Hence all the aggro as none of the Spruit racer (spuiters) have any recovery sections. It is just go! go! go! go! go! Bleed through the eyes, lungs over the handlebars, no breath for a polite "excuse me", "passing left", "good morning"... Just huffing puffing racing
  3. I'm implying you are obnoxious and abrasive and looking for k.k that will hurt you.
  4. You've never experienced renal failure?
  5. As a runner myself I dare anybody on a bicycle, irrespective of how aggressive and self-righteous they feel, to try and take me out when I am running. I'll be totally unharmed, and you will be a crumpled mess a few meters away from your bicycle. That said, Sometimes the risk stepping off the 'sacred black top' is just too high, and the black top MUST be shared. Luckily I do not run on main roads. I prefer running in suburbia with lots of hills and leafy streets (Roads ignored by cyclists as there are no long open sections!).
  6. I am serious wannabe. Trust me but thanks for the vote of confidence!
  7. Contact Mari Naude at Technogym Design Quarters. Very good bio + lynotherapist. Worked miracles for me
  8. I'm not a real iron man. I'm precluded from providing advice. I'll refrain lest I be reported for misrepresentation. but then again, I have rigid feet with high arches and I run in flat neutral shoes. Prefer sandals though. What do I know....
  9. Messed up the Garmin last year. Could only recover stages 3 and 4. So I need to go back and do the event again this year to record my averageness on stage one climb for Strava
  10. Age grouped batch starts... It can be lonely out to the end of stage one into the wind (it was last year) Second stage was really rough. Got my legs back for stages 3 & 4 avg speed (do not have profiles of the terrain) Stage 1: 53km @ 30.8km/h (Nasty cold start climb, long section into the wind towards the end of the stage) Stage 2: 48km @ 27.5 Stage 3: 52km @ 34.6 (I DID feel good here!) Stage 4: 22km @ 30.4 (mostly a solo TT from the back of the start group after the first few km was taken VERY easily)
  11. Did a 5:41 last year. Wasn't too fit, but I'm even more unfit this year
  12. Will there be a hubbers get-together @ the pasta evening before, or the party afterwards?
  13. I was wrong once, but then I realised I was mistaken At least I apologised profusely to the group when I rolled through a red robot in front of the Roodepoort municipal office on the cobble stones this morning...
  14. It is extremely selfish, or maybe it is somebody not well versed in the art of group riding

  22. When I'm on my MTB I tend to move off a narrow path/trail just enough so that the approaching party MUST move off the trail as well. So when we pass each other, neither will be on the trail, but just next to it.
