  1. Hey there I bought a cyclops fluid 2 from a store in town near wembley square last year. I now want to refer a friend to buy one but cannot remember the name of the store and can't seem to find them using google. Anyone have their contact details. They the same guys who stock the saris bicycle racks and powertap stuff. thanks in advance.

  8. Question? My wifes bicycle was on the roof racks, and like all bikes on roof racks going into underground parking, collided with a mixture of metal and concrete.luckily the roof racks came off and the bike seemed surprisingly fine except for a smallish dent in down tube. Should the frame be fine or should it be replaced.will try post pic so all can have a closer look.Any basic rules or tests i can do to assess the status of the frame? cyclone2009-07-18 15:34:32

    VO 2 max

does anyone know how to calculate Vo2 max on a stationary bike. Obvioulsy it would only be an estimate but does anyone have any good tips?
  11. I don't know if you know how difficult it is to get a horse into a horse box. Can't imagine how hard it must be getting a Llama onto a roof.

  15. Okay, well today was a whole new kettle of fish.Wife and I headed to Arboretum gate in Tokai and decided to climb to the mast.Beautiful day and beautiful views! Yesterday i was churning in the sand in the totally wrong neck of Tokai to be doing any proper MTB'ing. Wife not being used to gravel fell alot and needed some push starts to get going and the tarred section(at least 10%) really did give my quads a deep burn. Was fantastic fun, especially the downhill single track sections, was amazed how much abuse this GT could take. Thanks for the advice everyone and for all those who PM'ed me with advice and invites.Bad first day intro to MTB, brilliant 2nd.Not at all ready to let my slicks collect dust but both forms of the sport seem to have their merits. cyclone2009-03-22 09:30:19
  16. EASY!!!!! When some one asks me for encouragement or advice on Road biking after they've have bad experience, I usually offer to take them on a ride and show them the ropes and share any help I can.If they cycled along main road in peak traffic i would take them over Chapmans peak when wind was calm or some other beautiful ride(you get my point)I would try find out what they didn't like and clear up any misconceptions.Cycling is a sport I love and I it's awesome when you can introduce someone else to this World. I tried mountain biking, had a bad experience and went to thehub for advise....because isn't this where a south african cyclist asks for advice on these things, maybe not. Thanks for those who responded appropriatley.Going to head out again today.Anyone got some advice on where I should try, nothing to technical I will have my wife with me. cyclone2009-03-22 03:08:17
  17. My wife and I are roadie's but today we borrowed mountain bikes to see what all the fuss was about.I thought i would really enjoy it and was looking forward to it all day. so anyway i just got back and man was i disappointed. we went to Tokai forrest and rode for about an hour and bit and i hardly broke a sweat. It was more techinical than the road but slow and not very challenging on the legs. Was also so sandy, spent half the time churning stand while hardly moving forward at all. Maybe just a bad location.Any mountain bikers out there got some advice or some kind of encoragement or should I trash the MTB idea all together. cyclone2009-03-22 10:10:15
  18. Mine didn't but i'm running Linux! oh how i love Linux
  19. Oh and if you are hypertensive, have kidney or liver problems or have any problems with peptic ulceration then be very careful of using Non steroidal anti inflammatiry drugs(NSAIDS- of which panamor(diclofenac) is one). Persistent use of these drugs causes peptic ulcers and gastric bleeding. My advice-use only when you really need them.
  20. One of the most common mistakes is to assume that if your back is sore ones back must be the problem. Most cycling related lower back pain is due to weak core muscles(abdominal+plus some). The point of your core is to take the strain off you back muscles. If your core is weak then your back muscles work harder and come under strain. so-stretch your back before and after ride and get going on good core routine work out, there's plenty of them around. cyclone2009-03-19 03:05:37
