  1. And I thought that Hugh Hefner had a chronic and long standing case of friction burn. All pain in cycling is glorious.
  2. When I first started cycling 8 years ago I was amazed at the cost of the little squirt bottles of lube. I then found Castrol's Chain Wax, an aerosol spray at a motorbike shop. My LocalBikeShop said it was thick for a bicycle chain, but that they used it and it worked. I still have the same 400ml can 6 years later, nearly finished, with the price tag still on it- R92.33. I have 5 bikes (use them all 3 road 2 MTB - that's for another rave), and use the Castrol product on them all. At the Argus Expo i came across Giant's Fresh Speed Citrus Chain Wax, for R45. Can anyone expound on the pro's and cons of these 2 products in terms of their experience, especially the Giant, since I have no experience of it?
  3. I've been using Game for years for virtually all my training. I'm a cynical consumer and some time ago I decided to test it. I rode drinking only water until I hit the wall, then got the Game bottle from my seconder and felt fixed up almost immediately. I was sold. Now for a couple of weeks before a race I use FIT Carbo Train, recover with FIT Dura Train, and race with FIT Carbo Supreme. This stuff also works, but is expensive. Don't waste money on the expensive stuff for training. Game was good enough for thousands of Comrades runners for years, and it is good enough for us- seriously! Pick'nPay carries the big tins.
