I know that you have to pay 25% import tax + 14% vat on complete bikes bought from overseas but has anyone bought a complete bike from overseas and paid these amounts? Thanks!

I've got a set on my shamals and on my Reynolds and they work perfect! I did have a rock on the rear wheel out of the box, but realized that the bearing flange wasn't properly tightened. Loosened the grub screw and pushed it back in and tightned it and problem solved.

I upgraded from 10 speed Chorus to Super Record purely because I got Super Record for a bargain price. I always thought that the extra gear is just a gimmick and didn’t think it would make a big difference but I was wrong. When using a 11 23 I would have preferred a 25 for those very long and steep hills like Long Tom pass but when using a 11 25 or a 12 25 on the flats, I felt I missed a ratio in the middle. With the 11 speed the ratios are perfect! The levers are also very comfy and shifting is very good. To be honest, the shifting doesn’t feel that much different to the 10 speed. It feels a bit more precise than the 10 speed though. One warning is that the levers are longer than the 10 speed so your reach to the hoods will slightly increase.

I fully agree and have also never had any problems with changing cassettes and chains and running different wheels etc. accept once, where the combo just didn't want to work. Set-up was perfect, cable tension, limit stops, no running noise due to adjustment being out but the slip was always there when getting out of the saddle! Replaced the cassette and problem instantly disappeared. I think its very rare but does sometimes happen!

I do my own services and adjustments on my bike and have found that if a chain purely slips, it usually has nothing to do with adjustment or limit screws. its usually a miss match between the chain and cassette (defective chain or cassette, brand new or not).

Monday morning bump!!

I had a similar problem where two shops told me the rim was buckled and that they did the best they could do. The one spoke was always way looser than the other so the wheel immediately went out of true after using it again. But somehow Westdene cycles got the wheel true with all the spokes equally tensioned. Guess it depends on the experience of the wheel builders at those shops.

Nope, mine is sprayed on and then coated with clear. If you put vinyl and then spray clear, the clear will tend to come off, due to the vinyl shrinking and expanding underneath the clear coat in sun light.

Guys, I'm thinking about the Giant TCR advanced sl frame set and was wondering if anyone's got one? What is your experience of this frame? I'm just concerned with the aero efficiency of the bike with that square down tube? Hope to hear from you guys.

Most of Buycycles prices are very competitive, except maybe for the campag stuff but I'm sorry, thats purely J&J's fault not buycycle. J&J are the ones with the high mark-up on there products and especially campag stuff, not the shops. Sram was willing to drop its prices to be more competitive with the online stores and look how comparable the prices now are.

I bought some stuff from them this week and all I can say is, excellent prices and service and also with local agent backing!! Got the package via courier 3 days after my order was put in!! Spoke to them for quit a while over the phone, and they are rapidly expanding. They'll be getting all the new campag groups is, Eddie Merxcks, Felt, Cervello etc. Even if they dont have it on their website, they can get it for you at very good prices!
