  1. How does one greet a cyclist that you are overtaking. I greeted a roadie going up Tiekiesdraai today. I passed him on the gravel and waved, he swore at me

    Praise due

Many members on the forum are quick to point out cyclists behaving badly, but rarely when they do the right thing. I was walking the dogs this morning when I came across the City Cycling Club's morning ride waiting patiently at the corner of Le Seuer and Giel Basson in Plattekloof Glen. The traffic light is very slow to change, especially the direction the cyclists were coming from. There were no cars about but they waited patiently until the lights changed. Well done.
  3. Just received seeding via sms. I have no idea how they calculate. I assume there is a small field this year willy2009-11-20 04:33:49
  4. That's the worst excuse I've ever heard for not cycling.
  5. I assume bike stuff means clothing. Was the bike cleaned as well?
  6. you pay later (and hope the meter is read correctly)
  7. Rue de Rivoli is the best place to be. We were there in 2005 virtually opposite to where you where. We were standing on the wall, so we had a great view of the whole street.
  8. Be brave. Go to the nearest pub and change the channel just as the rugby is about to start. Don't forget to swallow the remote control afterwards.
  9. it would be a very brave person to stop someone as big as you
  10. It's not just the clavicle plate, there are also other plates running down my arm. From what I can make out it is not so much the plates that set of the detector, but the anchoring screws.
  11. Mine are staying in for now. I don't want to go through another procedure. A slight hijack I'm flying next month and have to go through airport security. Do these plates set off metal detectors. I have a letter from my doctor, but the silly bugger wrote it in Afrikaans which will help in a foreign country. willy2009-07-15 05:59:41
  12. I've been using CMC for the last two years. Great service and it is essential to book. The great thing is them being open on a Sunday afternoon.
  13. Who gives a toss about eye gouging, biting and general bad sportsmanship?
