  1. What's the signal regarding standing? I am unaware of this etiquette.
  2. Talking of group dynamics and not being formally taught at the "bunch riding school for kids who don't know how to ride and read the group dynamic good" Tongue in cheek here 😋. What’s the unwritten bunch etiquette around moving up on the left side, inside the yellow line at the road edge? My common sense says: 1. If there’s a natural flow happening on that side already, ja that's cool, you're moving with the flow, it is fine and predictable behaviour. 2. It’s better to leave a bit of buffer space near the edge for gravel, bumps, wiggles, etc. 3. Using that narrow space to squeeze into gaps to obtain positions doesn’t feel lekker on that side. If you need to do that, do it on the right where there’s more room and margin for safety - i.e. another lane. I am curious what the consensus on this is, and if my above perceptions ring true.
  3. FYI... looks like Olympic Cycles are able to help me. If this helps anyone who is in a similar predicament in the future.
  4. Urgently looking for this >> Front Wheel: 285.5mm Not so urgent, but good to have for the future. Rear Drive Side: 273.5 mm Non Drive Side: 298 mm
  5. 🦗 .... This is my last attempt here, by bumping up the thread. Any help or know of at least a proactive LBS that I can reach out to?
  6. Howzit... Im reviving this thread back from my original post couple of years back. Now my front spoke has snapped. If anyone who knows what the deal is on how to source Mavic spokes in SA (specifically CT) in the current landscape. Please can provide some leads. Thanks. Otherwise... off to ebay, etc. Thanks Mr. Broken-Spoke formally known as Mr Bendy-Spoke 🤣
  7. When I ride around Melkbos, I make use of the Mamre Road / Old Mamre Road, then turn right onto R304 and onwards to Philadelphia. I do this to avoid illegal N7 activities on the bike. The Mamre Road is a bit of a bumpy one, though, but I think of it as more of an adventure along that section
  8. This caused confusion with the front of group BL, with the oke shouting super loudly "GO AROUND THE COOONES !" I was thinking, do you go around the cones on a straight, or should we turn?! 😂 Luckily, the group was thinned out with people gunning it from the start (after the 'neural zone'), so no major pile-ups or anything, other than some people being mildly annoyed.
  9. Thanks, either it has been updated or I'm a bit thick 😅
  10. Hi Folks, if anyone is able to view the results as per their start group - please share etc. Also, the start groups seemed to be a bit of weird mixed bag vibe. Anyways, that was my experinece. 👌 aweh!
  11. From a first time sub3'er as of yesterday. Here is my experience/recent history. If this helps for anyone. I've done 10 tours, but only actually trained for the CTCT for last 3 years when I decided cycling is my sport now. I have a history of always doing sport/exercise so my 'engine' has potential I suppose - i.e. I have always generally been 'fit'. 2024 - just got sub 3 by ~2min, started in & 2023 - got 3:04, started in 1A 2022 - got ~3:15, started in 1B What I am doing now, as best bang for buck regrading time investment. I use Trainer Road (with indoor smart trainer), low volume plan supplemented with longer rides on the weekends. The interval nature of the training plan, helped a lot with the climbs where it gave me confidence (and fitness of course) that I knew I could hold that level onto that intensity, this also brought on a level of familiarity.
  12. That oke pulled 5 of us D's to the C group. That was rather handy for us 😉
  13. Thanks for the link - helps to get information directly from the source! Below are the screenshot for anybody else who may need this in the future. FRONT: REAR:
  14. Recently had a service and asked them to true the wheel. Let's just say they were not proactive in looking for a spoke or potentially assisting. Guess I'll try another local bike shop.
  15. I'm Cape Town based, as we all know the urgency here is not quite up to the pace up on the highveld. 😆
