  1. As long as it bangs and pops properly.... and doesn't stall...
  2. Mine has arrived and I have tested it.... and ordered one at 58.6... there is a tiny bit of lateral play (can feel it but hardly see it) and when there is no coffee in the basket it drops in about 5mm - so lets see I am very very pleased - well done Grebel - very well done indeed.
  3. New kid on the block... super cool
  4. AHA... lightbulb moment couldn't for the life of me think what it might be I hope you are going to protect that pipe if it's PVC somehow - stuff is sharp if someone falls on it. Is he going to use a chair in the shower or can he support himself well enough without a shower chair?
  5. Looks very good - well done. A small question - what is the cable on the upstand pipe next to the toilet that looks coiled?
  6. I was also in that range for the 2 baskets I measured - but I took a bit off to give me some leeway when ramping - I have used one that was too tight before and it was very difficult to insert straight - kept binding on the side walls
  7. I used a vernier gauge - could have used a bore guage but I dont have one that size
  8. 58.5 should work for me - could maybe go a bit bigger but I suspect it will get stuck with small misalignment when tamping. Pm me some dets and let me square you soonest.
  9. Stainless for me.. and I must apologise - I forgot completely... Will get on it in the am.
  10. If you are finishing that ramp for a wheelchair - add some fine silica sand (used pool filter sand or sandpit sand) in the varnish - gives much better traction in the wet - both for the chair and for anybody who might be pushing - you can either throw it on lightly when it's still wet, or add it in the varnish - not sure which is better, although I can see that it might mean a lot of stirring to keep it in suspension if you add it into the pot. I say this because I have dealt with several dislocated shoulders of wheelchair pushers who slipped on wet ramps/floors over the years.
  11. Depends on the grinder - mostly they have timers, but a few actually can weigh grinds.
  12. Bunny isn't a preemie any more... now she is a baby.... next step... teething.... then teenager.... Hope there will be a 1st birthday party with hubber invites.. ????
  13. Will measure up as soon as I can get close to the basket ???? - crazy busy weekend - play chess comp today and tomorrow and racing tomorrow.
  14. I will try and get a proper measurement set done later this weekend on my lm strada baskets (made by vst) the height of the flat edge is also important
  15. 58.2 odd.... the precision baskets I use are slightly bigger than 58 - would have to mike it to be sure I might be interested in a tight fitting one.
  16. No espresso from a French press... not ever... French press has the worst mouthfeel if any brewing method imo - no normal filter stops the fine coffee grinds landing up in the cup. An aeropress will give a reasonable approximation of espresso - but it's not the same thing.
  17. a - I don't believe coffee is that inconsistent in it's caffeine levels as they claim b - what exact chemical process are they applying to make the caffeine level consistent??? c - they don't seem to know that changing brew methods can have considerable impact on caffeine levels - mostly because of it's solubility level (longer you brew it the more you get pretty much) So - drink it if you like the taste - otherwise drink something that you do like the taste of.... the rest is pretty much smoke and mirrors in my opinion.
  18. Ping Droo. Sure he can sort it for you.
  19. It's a La Pavoni lever machine - not sure exactly which model from the photos but they are cool toys - relatively tricky to use - especially for steaming milk but once mastered can deliver a very good cup - the nice thing about these is they have a very quick start-up - downside is its easy singe your fingers and incorrectly used they can spray coffee grounds a considerable distance. As with all machines a decent grinder is required. I am lookingfor another one for a friend of mine so if anyone sees one for sale please drop me a note.
  20. At least your girfriend listens to me.....

As ignorant as they are - even if they are wrong - how much time would you want to spend explaining to them why they are wrong?
  22. 2 group La Marzocco Linea.... and a Kony... There is a picture somewhere....

Get it done as a temporary first and see what it feels like after a week or so of comments about Nazi Eagles..... No offense intended, but that was my first impression of the design.... the second one was the DD logo ... This is just based on a 3 second look..... at most....
  24. He was actually saying you need a proper espresso machine, then you can leave it on all night.... and it will be ready to go AT ALL TIMES... how else do you think he can get through 2 hours of meditation a year? :)
  25. Again - I don't think you will gain anything.... This "• Brewing temperature: 70-85°C will not burn the coffee during brewing" is not in the range needed for coffee... NOT..... Assuming that it's correct in their documentation.... - you need 92 - 98 as a range.... 70 degrees will not do the job. If you want it quick - kettle and aeropress.... but then it's without milk.
