  1. at the moment dischem does not stock them but they are available at any retailer that stocks FiT supplements where are you based and i will be able to help you out finding a shop close to you that has them
  2. i cant agree more but i am confused at why you didnt enjoy it because what else did you expect when you went riding on a trail? did you expect to be as fast as on the road? did you expect to be as good as on the road? but dont take it too badly try it again but this time go with a bunch of mountain bikers and see what happens
  3. BB i once used one of those sanding disks with "Fine" grain but it left grooves in the crank i would rather suggest a very light water paper and a bit of brasso and some good elbow grease Happy working!!turtlek2009-03-21 10:37:22
  4. Let's hope he likes the Capies enough...especially his local Mod's That is out right black mail Fatcyclist!! It's easier and safer just to say......?GIVE ME now now play nice children i know they yummy and all... but how about this we can have an auction i will think of a starting point and whoever makes the most worthwhile offer gets a bar or two????
  5. Hahaha i wish i could give myself a box but try organise with your cape town rep maybe he can organise someting for you
  6. this was told by a guy who was training a new guy to work in the bike shop while they had a very blunt and to the point customer who had bought a bike in the previous week so joe, werner and marinus are standing at the counter chatting about joe's new raleigh and werner asks joe how the new bike rides Joe says "jeez boet hierdie fiets is so vinnig dit maak my voorvel kielie my p##P hol and they all burst out in laughter.... not long after the laughter has died down a young couple walks in looking at the same model of bike joe has just bought and seing as werner is training marinus he decides to let marinus fly solo with this one!!!! (big mistake) as marinus walks over he gets asked by the young guy who is absolutely dead keen on buying the bike, how much faster will the bike make me in the argus?? So marinus in his wisdom quotes joe and says OOM die fiets is soooo vinnig as jy ry jou voorvel sal jou p##phol kielie And bursts out in a loud laugh for the whole shopping centre to hear The couple hastily exits looking disgusted and absolutely shocked.. When marinus gets back to the counter werner and joe ask him what he thinks a voorvel is To which he replies ag man its your forehead you chop
  7. Ditto and think of us hubbers who will not be able to join you there!!!
  8. ? I noticed!? Thought maybe some of the flavors weighed more than others ... that was kinda blonde come to think about it. thanks for that .... NOW Back to the FiT bars...
  9. Porky there are many different things to worry about here but from my personal experience i find that if you have floating cleats (the red look ones) then have them as far forward as possible and in the middle of the foot if you ride with non float cleats then i would suggest going to someone like arran brown from cycle fit or richard lee from customised cycling solutions to get them set up correctly arran can be contacted on cyclefit.co.za and richard on 0728585287 hope that helps you out
  10. ? BigBen's not the only one you have to worry about turtlek But msbehavn you know where my loyalties lie haha ok ok your spez is pretty and it made me want one just like it
  11. Ok here goes i say BIANCHI ok damn was not one of the answers {] go for the spez just because i dont feel like having Big Ben on my case about this situation!!!
  12. flemish lion you tjop knew you would be first to post!!! We will be bringing some tasters to the crit next week and we will also have some at various club rides all over the country the cycle lab westlake guys had a taste of them on saturday last week and this week we are at a still to be discussed event (keep your eyes peeled for two guys in FiT kit and you might be lucky)
  13. Take them all for a ride dude if you are putting down that sort of cash you do not want a bike that will be uncomfortable for you for example a cervelo soloist is a harsh ride for most but an awesome ride for others a trek madone is too stiff for some but too flexy for others you will get loads of opinions and people trying to sell a bike from personal experience but the only way to know how you will feel on a bike is if you test one out P.S. i am very competitive on a 10kg bianchi aluminium bike so you dont neccisarily need to spend so much cash to be fast turtlek2009-03-19 01:29:47
  14. HI Hubbers Me again!!! Some of you might have seen them at the argus expo, and some of you have already taken the opportunity to taste them.... BUT how many of you know anything about them???? It is my pleasure to introduce the all new FiT Supreme Energy bar Range, With three flavours, you will not find a bar under any other name that is healthy for you, Tastes Great and has the performance advantage of FiT Carbo Supreme in it. So the question you will now ask is where and how much????? Where??? any shop that stocks FiT sports Products Will have these bars... Price???? R12 yes it might not be as cheap as the other "energy" Bars on the shelf but then again it is not just any other energy bar!!!! Flavours that are available: Choc Berry: Great for on the bike because the chocolate coating does not melt as quick as normal chocolate... Yogurt berry: great for the guys and girls with a sweet tooth... and last but not least my personal favorite... The harvest bar: The only bar that does not contain the FiT Carbo Supreme in it but with it's yogurt coating and loads of goodness in it you cant help but take two out of the box at a time!!!
  15. Cervelo Girl we didnt wait too long you were riding exceptionally well!!! msbehavn and holy Thank you for the compliment!!!!
  16. Just thought i would post a quick thank you to a few hubbers which made my stay in cape town a whole load less stressful and somewhat amazing!!! Firstly Token freak deserves a medal this individual got a frantic call from me on the thursday before the giro was meant to start because as some of you know i was the mechanic for the toyota super cycling team and for this i needed a portable bike stand (i only have a bike stand that weighs close on 100kg's) having called everyone i knew that had one here in jhb i had run out of options and called TF by chance asking if he could lend me one for the giro... well he could lend me one so we organised to meet at the airport as i landed so that i could meet him and get the work stand, he was there and really made my day!!!! so the giro went off without a hitch except for me almost losin my finger thanks to a development rider taking out one of my riders rear derailers Was very scary hanging out of the window at 85km/h down a hill fixing a derailer with a shifting spanner but i survived WOOHOO Giro ends on the friday and i pack up and go through to simonstown to be with my wonderful girlfriend before argus and to go through to the expo to collect my number on the saturday so there i go early saturday morning through to the expo (riding my bike) thinking it would be about an hours ride from simonstown (think again ) eventually ride for 2.5 hours and end up going on the highway WOW THAT WAS SCARY AS WELL!!!!! and end up out of breath and sweaty at the expo i then stood for a few more hours helping out at the FiT/Louis Garneu stand selling the new FiT supreme bars while showing off the FiT cycling kit and the Louis Garneu custom mould shoes all is well and i decide to start riding home to simonstown at about 2pm in the dead heat and head wind (big tip for race day use shallow section wheels!!!!!) but 45minutes into my ride i have run out of water and i am only in newlands by the shell garage so i stop off and get some refreshments and while waiting for a dude on Cape town time (worse than african time because he actually thinks while doing things) when Lo and Behold i hear a certain very familiar voice Shouting TIM.... I get scared and think who is this person??? i dont know anybody in this part of the world!!! i Turn around and see Msbehavn at the fridge getting a powerade and beaming from ear to ear because she thought she recognised a certain Bianchi outside the door!!! she then offers me a lift because me in my stubbornness i still wanted to ride home in the heat and wind... Even though she was driving out of her way to drop me off she did it with a smile and i can not thank you enough Regan You rock girl it is thanks to you that i had such a great argus!!!!!!! so saturday ends and i go to sleep much more rested than i would have been if i had not have seen msbehavn... I then wake up to an excited girlfriend who hasnt slept because she is so excited about the argus even though she is just driving me to and from and taking pohotos of all us windblown warriors (Thank you Ciara)!!!! so it all starts the preparation has all been for this day feeling great on the morning always helps with the mindset when you get onto the bike!!! well what can i say other than that was the hardest race of my life BAR NONE!!!!!!!!!!! finished in a shaterred state in just over 3 hours came 39th in my bunch and 193rd overall couldnt feel my arms for a few days after the race! so now comes the holiday part of my trip argus done and dusted and some much needed secret training and relaxation awaits me for the week after the argus which all came and went in a blur of 4 hour rides and perfect weather bloody cape town how can you do this to me after such K@k wind on sunday i then met up with the fast group on saturday at cycle lab westlake i am sure some of you saw my thank you post but here goes again Thanks Skye for organising with Armand and Mat will keep in contact with all of you when i am down there again for more training rides!! Carlo SG i was shocked to have you recognise me but thanks for the chat and the coffee shop chat as well!!! all's well that ends well dont you think???? ok so the story doesnt stop there i left cape town on monday and had organised with Token freak for him to meet me at the airport once again to give the work stand back and i get an sms just after arriving at the airport saying "Tim i am sorry i wont be able to make it but take the workstand as a gift Regards Arno" Now What Can i Say Other than Arno you really are one in a million i can not say thank you enough because your generosity has helped me realise that with everything that happens in the world on a day to day basis there is always that one person that makes a difference in everyones life that they touch I owe you bud and if there is anything at anytime that i can do for you then give me a call and i will do my utmost to do it to the best of my ability!!!!! So here i am back in the land of the living behind my own pc (thank goodness!!!) and back to normality i cant wait to get back to racing and cant wait to help out where i can Regan and Arno you guys are amazing friends and if you ever need anything just give a shout i am here at anytime!!!!! P.S. sorry for the lack of punctuation and grammatical errors
  17. Svm where do you meet and what time in the mornings???
  18. Turtlek ... with no camera on the line' date=' I would think the best decision would have been to award 1st place to both Anriette and Jenny?[/quote'] now thats a great idea if it is possible to award rourke and the other dude joint third place medals at sa champs even with cameras then without cameras this should have been a no brainer in that department!!!
  19. Spano each person's foot is different and what is good for you wont be good for me Take louis Garneu for example the top of the range thermo mouldable shoe costs half of what the SHimano shoe with the same technology and can be moulded in your own oven multiple times and Looks ten times better than the shimano shoe ok ok so i ride them and i will never trade the shoes unless i am sponsored, but in the past i have had many different shoes and couldnt complain about any of them. so go to a shop and try all of the shoes on and if you like them buy them it doesnt matter what other people say in the end!!
  20. DUDE dont worry about the choice because there is no competition in this poll!!!! The bianchi Ev3 is one of the most amazing frames ever built and if i could get more than one i would buy all of them you cant compare the two frames becasue as MR mampara says beacon compared to lindt is no competition P.S. do not take anything big ben says literally he hates Bianchi's because he is just jealous that he doesnt have the privelage of riding one
  21. ? We missed you turtlek - going to have to drag you out on the next one! ? What a great place to ride!!? It was super to meet a lot of new "faces".? Dirtrider' date=' Dirt Queen is just the cutest supporter.? ? Punt, I'm sorry that you didn't get to meet your girlfriend today.? But don't give up hope, buddy!? She's out there somewhere (probably just on some singletrack that we didn't get to ) ? There were no spectactular swan dives from me today *phew* but holy definitely made up for it with his mudbath [/quote'] ah you so sweet but no dragging will be needed i promise i will definitely be there glad you girls and guys had fun!!!!
