  1. Was good to ride again - work out the Killarney lactic acid ;>) Nothing like a pre-work blast to start your day.
  2. My gear was ready, alarm was set. But rain scared me away at the last minute. At least there's Belville Velodrome tonight.
  3. Hi ccc2, nice group of cyclists. It was good meeting you all. The pace was nice and hard, 34kmph average before work surely wakes you up! Roll on Tuesday..
  4. If all goes well, I'll be joining next week.
  5. You forgot Lucky Luke. Fastest hubber I had the pleasure meeting!

Butafly - that's real funny. We were all hiding in our cars before the start! I felt overdressed in my hiking socks

Ok thanks for the times. It's easy then: the one team passed the other. so officially 2h12 - 6 mins = 2h06 for the slower of the two teams, and so forth for the other team. This clears up the confusion thanks.

Route was very safe thank you. Could you double check results please? Apparently Outriders 1 did 1h40 and Outriders 2 did 2h06?

It was a great day out. Thanks for a well organised event!
  11. Zac - got to congratulate you on your 2:59:55 Talk about cutting it fine! Well done my boy. You deserve it!!
  12. 92kg 1.87m: 2h56 Argus with the first B's. Basically just had to focus at Edinburgh, Chappies and Suikerbossie. Avg HR 156. Max speed only 69 kmph. The weight and 11-tooth was a big advantage closing the gaps going down Smiths and Suikerbossie. ;-) The rest as they say was a breeze!
  13. Same with B. Our max speed was 69kmph, mates of mine in C clocked 85kmph! (but sub 3 sounds better! ;-) @Luke, you mad nutter. 47kmph avg, that's giving it some! And no wonder I couldn't find Clive's name in the results. Hope you guys are ok.
  14. Nice chatting to you FRAIL - you were low level flying down the Blue Route!
  15. Wow yes, would love to know the story. Everytime I looked ahead Team Norway was setting the pace. Had to personally thank them at the end. (Well, I guess they were just repaying the favour - as one of them asked me at the start, "Are these blue things the toilets?" Very good!)
  16. 2h56 - Thanks B Bunch!
  17. Stunning shots, thanks CCC
  18. Thanks for such a great event - we'll definitely be back next year! Here's some pics: ELITES
  19. The Outriders Team entered! Looking forward to a great day out and meeting other club members. See you Sunday!
  20. I did the Clanwilliam Duathlon last year, which was nice. There doesn't seem to be too many Duathlons in the Western Cape. Keen to do the Zevenwacht one, just waiting for entries to open.
  21. Doing the Criterium on the 4th, but would've loved to join you guys!
  22. Finalising Outriders Inter-Club team, thanks organisers.
  23. Don't get my started on HR! Since Die Burger I now only use HR for post race analysis. That was until my Garmin was vibrating the full Hels distance! 'Slow down, you are above your max!' 160 avg HR for 2h32 Only Die Burger avg HR was higher @ 164
  24. Likewise Bram. Hamstrings were twitching the last 10km's. Nice strong ride from yourself. Terloops: my wife made an interesting comment - she passed us in the car with about 25km to go. A bit further on she noticed some participants slip-streaming a bakkie, and every time they got close to a corner / intersection with marshals, the bakkie will move ahead, only to rejoin our fellow participants for a lekker slipstream to the end.. Next thing you know they'll all be eating contaminated steaks and have secret motors in their bb's! You just have to smile and wave.. edit: typo
