  2. Hot off the press - I shot some video from the HandleBar of the last lap. EXCITING STUFF! Footage right from within the racing - could be the first time ever: http://tinyurl.com/pm5hf4c (Sorry someone has to teach me how to embed youtube footage - this is my first youtube upload!)
  3. Lovely pics wow. Truly captured the moment in time.
  4. Hi Rydogg Yes you can. 3 x 37.5 km loops with Cat 2 is still a great workout. Test yourself tomorrow, and if you feel strong, ride Cat 1 at the next race. Good luck!
  5. Thank you yes - it was brilliant fun! Throw in your full hour, and howling South Easter, then things will become interesting. But for now, I'm enjoying the "easy" introduction to the 2013 Killarney season.. Keep up the great work degody!
  6. Pity the time has now changed to 1pm. Lights of Linea Race number 1 was 11am - so got all the manne ready for this Saturday's 11am start.. Because it's advertised as 1pm now, we'll have to cancel ;-( Have a good race guys'n'gals.
  7. Looking forward to the weekend CCC!
  8. I've got the same light. Very good. You're selling them at a bargain! ;-)
  9. Chamois quality is better than the local stuff. I bought two different cycling shorts / shirts and 2 years on: both chamois's are still great whereas local stuff is coming apart, and loosening at the seams. I bought through Monton at the time. Shoecovers, Armwarmers and Gloves - all good. I also bought a set of Jawbones and compared to the real one, identical. You can check at the screws. And you get three sets of lenses. But I like my Rudy polychromatic glasses from ASG Auction now!
  10. Bought twice from them no problem.
  11. Hmm: Just for you Cippo.. http://www.easybike.co.za/garmin-edge-500-red-premium-bundle.html
  12. Very good insight - nice to see some South African influence as well. Thanks for sharing Crow!
  13. Another one: http://www.theoutriders.co.za/ Caters for all levels of cyclists
  14. Garmin will probably be the most accurate. Then like 'Dale said, import into Strava afterwards. Poor little smartphone works overtime to record GPS data, send messages, play music, check emails, answer calls, all on the fly. Next thing you know it will be able to predict weather and tell you which segment you have a chance in getting a top 10! ;-)
  15. This fred is a pretty good read. Yet an important one. I've been told "If this cycling thing is coming between us, then we have a problem". I love cycling. I love to test the mental and physical boundaries. I love my family as well. What is acceptable cycling behaviour? E.g. I think the following is ok (your thoughts please): 5 days Commute to work / back - only slightly longer than the car (Waking up early is irrelavant) 1 workday a week out late cycling 1 morning per weekend cycling In return: 2 days per workday week baby-sitting. Love it Sunday mornings baby-sitting. Love it The rest family = time 8 bikes hanging in the garage. Should I be worried?
  16. 318?? If you average 25kmph, that's almost 13 hours of constant cycling! Ouch!!
  17. Cleaned bike with the aid of a torch last night. Lights fitted. Ready for some pre-commute miles this morning. And then the heavens opened in Cape Town.. Day 1: Cycle = 0km. Run = 0km Day 2: Double effort on xmas day. Fingers crossed!! Cycle Safe Denny
  18. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's: Wesley Cole Willie Saayman CW jnr Raymond Cox and ..? Great team.
  19. Saw the training group cross the bridge over the N1 this morning - nice going Tankman!
  20. Nice incentive to get on your bike. More reason to have another slice of Christmas pudding!
  21. Ja thanks for the slipstream back ! ;-)
  22. Capcha captured Daikin - looks like they were there. http://capcha.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/DAIKIN-2.jpg
  23. Gerard Genis is recovering well after a hip operation Monday morning. We wish Oom Gerard a speedy recovery!
