  1. Would Q-Bond also not be an option. With the granules that you add in it makes the joins pretty strong. It is quick and you can sand it down after...... Have never tried it on alu though. There are some other products in motor-car shops used for repearing cracked sumps and so on - generally metal specfic glues.....
  2. Final race for the year was definaltey the best organised for the number of riders. Agree 10min batch intervals seemed to work (had not bottlenecks)......altough I am sure people will grumble about late start times. I still rate their goodiebags as awesome compared to other events.
  3. Will try the bearings, if I can work how to get them off.
  4. I am getting the same thing on my spinning bike. Do you think it is BB or equiv....I am guessing it has one, have not pulled it apart......
  5. Agree - did the same, also pumped it to max pressure so could "open the holes" for sealent to get through. Once did this and the side thing, checked it in the pool and all pinholes were closed. Had the same on Rocket Ron.
  6. Tried a late online entry this evening but they had closed. Site says midnight tonight they close......does anyone know if they have reached capacity?
  7. I bought a new type from Northcliff Cycles - which has an adjustable rubber bit holding two plastic "arms" (forget the name). It works well to hold the bottle, problem with my dual sus is the back wheel tends to hit the bottle on jumps. (must be the geometry). If I do a good job, I manage to unclip the whole bottle cage. If the bottle cage stays, so does the bottle (given the rotation of the tyre). So the cage is good at holding the bottle but can't avoid the tyre. Won't be using it anymore (wife was getting annoyed with the tyre marks I was leaving on all the bottles ) - has an optional handle bar mount, but I don't think I will go that route......
  8. Awesome news - muscle memory is a wonderful thing......
  9. I weighed 93kg and have a Crest on the Front and Arch rear - now I weigh 88kg (before kit) and still no problems - and I hammer it on the downhills - (because have to make up time for the uphills). I had them done up properly - not by a regular wheel builder. My theory - flawed or not - is the back takes more of a hammering when it comes to weight etc. Front has the longer travel fork and most of the time is unloaded when hitting biggish things...... Not sure about the turning and flex and all of that - beyond me, but they are still running true.
  10. I damaged my shoulder and was off for a total of 12 months. One thing I can recommend is see a Biokinetisest..... however you spell it..... I had more sessions with them in the end than the Physio. They look at muscle balance, muscle trigger points, strength balance, range of motion and other things I gave up trying to understand. (She also baselined my shoulder strength to what it was and what min it should be.....). The physio was more on the strength and mobility of the joint. Not sure how complicated ankles are, but shoulders you have to get right else you end up having problems later on in life since it is a joint the degenerates over time (kinda like a hip). My Bio lady did an awesome job, and I am back to 100%...ish (difficult to tell since I had previously smashed my collar bone when I was younger and never rehabbed that properly)
  11. That is an awesome bike.....am sure that the belt drive is going to catch on for SS
  12. Give up - Tell us......
  13. I have read that above the neck you can carry on, below the neck - not a good idea. My Doc recons if a virus, then not a good idea (altough I don't know when it is a virus....). I agree with JGR ito of heart attacks - extra strain on the body not a good idea. Suppose you can also monitor heart rate and if takes longer to come up than normal or his higher than normal at rest, then not a good idea to train - or so they say.....
  14. Also rated the 4th event. Much more fun, lovely downhills....easy climbs, enjoyed it. Anyone notice the quad that had an oopsy - the one guy looked a bit hurt (was he ok in the end) - the first aiders seemed to be struggling to get to them.
