  1. Question,I need some picks for the TT? Martin,Froome...who else do you guys think will go fast?
  2. +1000!!!!!!!!!! Lets see how it turns out from a racing perspective....like I said before, had Quintana waited for the final climb yesterday things might have looked different...maybe he would have even been able to match Froome.....
  3. Great ride by Froome!Good to see him attack the race and take the lead! I would however say the race is far from over...only thing is the main challenge will have to come from Movistar! They are strong and can match the sky pair if they are smart. Yesterday I think they made a big mistake to let Quintana go that early....clearly he is in great form and Valverde is also strong! If he was fresh on that final climb it could have been a different story today. Quintana is also strong in the TT so he should at least match Porte there. Loads of racing left!!
  4. Agree,I don't get it....he will do more damage and surely he has no real power left so what help will he be to Froome? If it is fractured I don't see how he will be able to get back to anything close to he's best during the tour so why do it.....riding with pain is one thing...not being able to produce power makes no sense ??
  5. Big leadout by Impey!Gerrans struggled to stay on he's wheel when he kicked! Good win,I have to say I would not have predicted that after 3 stages in the tour Cav,Greipel and Sagan would be without a win....
  6. Believe me they all had access, just go and read the list Rassmussen confessed to using...he used it all and then some more....same goes for other riders that has confessed that did not ride on postal. What I do still find funny is that Rasmussen can come out and tell everybody how he got away with it for years and show everybody the list of thing he used....nobody even really cares, nobody saying bliksem but the guy took every drug in the book. Even Leipheimer said he used all the stuff at gerolstein he used while riding for Lance...nothing different. So why then is nobody shouting for Ullrich to give back all the money he made while cheating? No just focus on Lance and that will make everything better......
  7. Ay chance that riding carb free can effect your immune system? Have been sick twice now in 3 weeks and it's not normal for me to get sick like this.. Have been doing some very long and hard rides without carbs this last month...is it possible that it is to much? Did 330km on the Mtb in 4 days without carbs basically and the last ride on Monday was hard pace for about 105km without eating breakfast or having any carbs on the bike.Tuesday I got bronchitis...
  8. That is a serious team...if I was Sky I would be worried!
  9. Hehe,I would love for Andy to surprise everybody but I don't think that will happen unfortunately......
  10. Was a great show!!Have to agree Slash and sweet child was kickass!! Also loved the acoustic set they did... Myles Kennedy is brilliant as well, probably as close as you can get to Axl?
  11. Agree Movistar will be very strong,I also think Contador will have the strongest backing this year he has ever had. With Rodgers and Kreuziger he has some serious backing!! The only reason Froome cracked in the 3rd week is because he has been racing straight for 4 months supporting Wiggens and helping him win just about everything there was to win.He came second in the tour then did the Olympics and had to be at the start line for the Vuelta couple weeks later....no rider will be able to handle that load and then take on 3 of the best riders with fresh legs. I don't see a Sky cracking the likes of Costa,Quintana,Rogers and Kreuziger and having it all their own way.It will be much different than last year with stronger GC guys and stronger support riders.
  12. Talk about betting, odds according to procycling mag. Evans 25/1 Rodriguez 14/1 Valverde 33/1 Froome 6/5 Contador 9/4 I would put some money on Rodriguez and Valverde if you ask me. Especially Valverde because he has a very strong team and some amazing climbers like Costa and Quintana backing him!
  13. Almost no fast times after 2008,as far as I know this was the year the bio passport was introduced? From what I have seen over the last 3 years or so nobody is getting close to the VAM and watts per kilogram figures of before 2008. Must mean something...not saying they are clean but certainly not juiced up anymore.Moving in the right direction for sure....
  14. Did a good carb free ride today..110km on the Mtb,no fat shake ,no breakfast,no carbs or food or water on bike. Basically got up,had a black coffee and left.... Still carry a bottle with carbs for emergencies on the bike for long rides but I am starting to feel like I can leave the carbs for anything up to 5 hours. Doing my first Trans Baviaans this year so I am thinking about doing it carb free...will see how the training goes.
  15. Impey in the main break of the day....stage 7.Hope they stay away and he takes the stage!!
  16. I hope it does not come down to a Froome Conto battle only...Valverde looked solid at Dauphine and Rodriguez I think will love the high mountains. I see what everybody is saying about Froome and he is the in form man but to me Conto remains the favorite. The man has only been beaten once in like the last 8 or 9 grand tours he has done...and that was the year he won the Giro and tried the double.Like him I count the rest as wins..... So basicly he has not been beaten when he has focused on a grand tour. Will take some doing.. I back Froome but to me Conto is the favorite.
  17. Yes will make things interesting for sure ,especially the first big break of the day will be hard to control , might actually make it much harder to get away but will also be hard for the controlling teams. During some of the races they tested this last year all that happened is they ended up riding harder to ensure the break never got a big gap....and in most cases ended up catching the break way to early because of the uncertainty. The biggest thing was they had to react earlier...than normal which could make the beginning part of the race more interesting and cause second and 3 rd breaks to go.
  18. If I was Conto I would start to worry about how to avoid going that deep that Froome can counter him....he has done it so many times this year it must worry Conto. Every single time he has attacked Froome has countered and like at Oman he just rides away.It is almost like he wants Conto to attack and burn matches. One thing that I think must worry the GC guys is he has on a couple of occasions put in small attacks while they were on he's wheel and they could not stick...he did this at romandie and here again. Last week when he won the stage he basically dropped Valverde of he's wheel while crossing to Conto....that is very hard to do. If he improves from here and Porte also improves I really don't see anybody beating them. But if he is close to he's best and Valverde, conto and Rodriguez improves still then we will see a good battle.
  19. Agree on the race radio's but I think people might over estimate the effect a power meter have. Most of these guys train with power meters and I can tel you if you train with it as much as these guys do you know what power you on. They know what 400 watts feel like and work mostly on sensations...if you on a bad day it won't help you any how and on a good day they know what they are doing.
  20. Yes I was surprised to see someone bridge to them.....there was lots of daylight with 500m to go so he must have been going very fast up that last section! Garmin will be strong also I think because I see Hesjedal is looking strong at the TDS.
  21. Great ride by Froome again...he really is looking good!He also seems to think he still has room for improvement so July will be interesting for sure. I see lots has been said about sky here...just some of my thoughts. Movistar,Katusha and Saxo had riders up there every day...they all looked strong on the climbs, they just did not have to take responsibility everyday but clearly Valverde Rodrigeuz and Conto has some very strong support for the mountains. Froome with Sky is very much different than Wiggens and Sky.We have seen him many times over the last couple of years going one on one in the mountains with the GC guys. He has also attacked from far out on he's own this year, if he believes he needs time he has no problem to go and get it in the mountains. Most of he's wins come from time on the climbs...not the TT bike. He has no problem to chase down any GC contender if he believes it is a dangerous move....we have seen him do this many times. He loves to counter attack....not many riders today that can ride down a guy like him and then go straight past them. Looking at all he's wins since Oman this year I think the way he rides is anything but boring.
  22. Not at that speed ...hehe Did they not climb it the year Cadel won...end of that short stage that Conto attacked with Andy early on? Would love to see that time compared to these guys...2 speeds. Even more amazing is the bikes they where on...
  23. Hoping Purito and Valverde shows good form during this race because that will mean we will see 4 guys battle it out at the tour. We have to remember that Purito has the potencial on the climbs to leave everybody behind. He was by far the best climber during last years Giro and the tour of spain. He just needs to not have a bad day and he will be very dangerous.
  24. Reinardt loves sprinting on those small cat 3 type climbs....hope he has good form! He has been struggling with a knee injury so not sure if he will be 100 %. I think Purito will also be very strong for this race...winning margins will be small. And I don't think Valverde will be far behind as well.
  25. Maybe some of the LCHF experts can commend here,You have done a lot to get to the stage where you are now so not sure if you should change your daily diet.Just maybe use a different approach for the 1 big race you do during a month and see how it goes. Maybe after a couple of months you get closer to racing on LCHF without the negative effects...and in the meantime you can still race without the frustration of not having the power. I am very tempted myself to go full LCHF but struggle to find the right time to do this because of a heavy race schedule. Doing SA marathon champs this weekend and after that I think I will go full LCHF and see what happens.
