If the movement is between the axle and the arm is there a fix for that or does it mean replacing the whole crank?

The play was there after insuring the crank arms were as tight as possible. I'm guessing that means the BB needs to be tightened, do I need any special tool to tighten the BB? I have thought about putting some lock tight on the thread of the bolt that secures the crank arm to the spindle to ensure it doesn't come loose. Is this a good idea?

Thanks all for the advise, After stripping I have found that I have the older square spindle. I also found that when assembled there is slimight movement from side to side.

Im not to clued up on this. If I had to guess I would say Internal. The bike is a Merida matts 300, does this help?

Hi Guys, I have a clicking noise that has developed when I pedal, the noise was getting louder and louder as I rode until someone sugested I spray Q20 into my BB and the noise stoped for a while. Any Idea's as to the seriousness of this noise, where to look and what the problem could be? Thanks in advance!

I entered for the goodie bag. At the cost of race entry yes I could go buy the stuff I want and pay entry into a local trail (which I do every weekend). However being told you'll get a goodie bag you do expect to get one and a decent one at that when entry is as much as we pay. Its a matter of principle at the end of the day ( As well as needing a new water battle, mine has a hole in the bottom).

Goodie bag? Ok I'm only doing the 20km as I Have not riden in 3years. The fat and lazy should get goodie bags too!!

I thought they should have more stopping power as I have promax Q3 160/160 on my other bike and i was told its a kids bike hahaha, so I guess I expected more from the shimano brakes.

Hi All, I have Shimano M445 180/160 mm brakes on my bike, they are quite noisey and it seems as if they should have allot more power than they do. Are these generally good brakes? what could the problem be and how do I sort it out? thanks
