Unfortunately it is a case of supply and demand. There is such demand that there will still be a huge waiting list. I don't know the financial workings of the Sani2C, but if the profits go to the surrounding communities, then I can't really complain. It is unfortunate though, that it becomes more of an elitist event.

Driving down Old Main Road in Hillcrest at 5:45 this morning, I passed a group of about 12 cyclists. The four guys at the back of the bunch had absolutely no lights at all! It just boggles my mind that people would put their lives at risk like that, especially after the publicityof the recent incidents in Durban. You have to assume that these are educated(?) people. I recently bought a road bike with a 100mm stem. I feel a bit stretched out on the bike, and want to buy a shorter stem. I would like a 80mm stem, but hardly see any that length. Is there a reason for this? does it make the steering too twitchy?
