If you are not a race snake, and you do general trail riding Kenda Nevagal's are awesome all-round tyres. They do well in the mud too.

You were on the wrong website! I always wondered how they get those Russian Brides to you. What duty did you pay, if you don't mind me asking? Got my eye on one myself.

I've had nothing but excellent service from Polar. I sent them my 725X which was about 1 1/2 years old because the digits were becoming faint, they sent me back the brand new model! On other occasions they have replaced the face of my watches for free. Polar is one product that I will not buy from overseas because the local agents deserve the business.

Well done to BMax for supplying free products, and the nurses! I'm sure that horrible tasting glutamine shot at the end is the reason why my legs are feeling strong right now. Anything that tastes that bad has to work!

Then again, fitting a towbar and buying a towbar mounted bike rack won't be cheap either

I have one of these: Thule Insta-Gater Truck Bed Bike Rack. They aren't cheap, but you can't beat them for convenience. I also like it because the taillgate on my Corsa Bakkie is lockable, and the clamp locks onto your bikes wheel. Certainly not theft proof, but fine if you just want to run into the shop. Or you could be cool like Mylene from Mountainbker Magazine, and fit roofracks to your bin with two Thule Pro-rides mounted onto them. Totally awesome, but friggin expensive!

You have to carry a lot of food/drinks to last you 5+ hours of racing, especially when there is only water at the tables.

They could have at least had some bananas for the 105km riders, or were the riders supposed to pick their own as they rode through the banana plantation single track (which was really awesome!)

How come this happens to the good guys? I bought my gold "bling" Schwinn from Francois and he really went out of his way to help me. A real genuine guy. Get well soon. I'll be going to the bank tomorrow.
