Don't underestimate the value of the woman specific bikes. Especially if she is small in stature. My wife went from enjoying mountain biking to LOVING it since we got her a Trek WSD.

I heard from a lbs yesterday that Silverback has stopped production on their Mercury frames for 2009 cause of a defect they found on it. No details given on what the defect it though. Any truth in this?

I did the 35km race and it was awesome. Best route I've seen up and till now. I agree with Shamus, who needs a goodie bag? Rather make the entry fees less and leave the freebies. Less of an organizational nightmare in any case then. Just my opinion.
