  1. Perfect for the Contermans Enduro this weekend... Although I might change the rear tyre, drop the seat a little and raise the handlebar a bit :-)
  2. Agree with an Epic, Anthem or Sido I'm 1.89 and have only ever fitted well on L frames... And yes, 100mm travel max
  3. Why would they want to make it easier? Thats what the 40km is there for...
  4. Sounds more like Knysna Bullsh.t
  5. Nice report, especially coming from a Savage ????. It adds a bit of longevity to the whole experience of the events we do. Also have to say that the 99er organization is superb! Little bit disappointed with some riders (JOC rider most of all, I counted 4 times) repeatedly riding up the side of the bunch over the white line. Good riding in general and kudos to all who were willing to work in front ???? My 2nd road race in a looong time, so I did not feel too bad about only pulling front for about 1km (when chasing the breakaway - sorry Aaron ;-) See ya'll at the races
  6. The world is insane. Really? Who needs to be able to do all this rubbish? We are not driving F1 cars, and all this is achieving is to make our sport even more expensive than it is already as this trickles down. People are simply obsessed with having and bragging about the latest and greatest stuff that they dont need or can probably even use to a fraction of the capability of the actual component. Rant over
  7. Sounds like hip misalignment - same with me. Good physio will tell you what to stretch and what to strengthen to fix it properly. Karen Frye (personally) in Durbanville is brilliant. And then a good bike setup might help as well - in my case Christoff Smit in Stellenbosch reckons my cleat and saddle position were exascerbating the hip issue. A week and 2 good rides later I am feeling much better already. I would actually recommend Christoff 1st, since he is a physio and can have a look at setup and the body
  8. Just a bit of feedback after today: This race on this route is well worth doing - you have a lekker climb (Tiekiedraai) to shake things up early on, then some fast riding out past Fisantekraal and to the silos (depending on wind direction). Then some good rollers where the group can split again easily, before you hit the gravel section. For me this is best done at speed, but not in a tight group. After that the Malanshoogte climb is a good challenge, before you hit another 3 rollers, a long downhill piece and the return to Killarney. And there you can finally rev your engine a bit more if you still have the legs. Good route...
  9. How does one manage almost 6hrs per day for 21 days?
  10. No man, this competition urges mountain bikers to log more distance on road bikes in order to win a mtb race entry...
  11. What do you reckon a 2week trip like this will cost eventually, everything included?
  12. Who cares? Seriously? Even with short socks in the mix? That sounds like the ravings of a Malema supporter.
  13. Yes or no? I'm trying to save a friend from cycling style suicide...
  14. Not sure, but it looks like Stage 6 might be going through sections there? We were planning to ride there on Sat, but I'm not sure whether it's open for public use. Help?
  15. jip, pretty much. will chat to him, thanks
