  1. Great en well done Emile. Eendag as ek groot is gaan ek dit ook ry.... Ek sien jy het gekook by die Lionman - geluk daarmee ook!
  2. I have a Scott Pro hardtail and a Tallboy dually - so no direct opinion regarding your bike BUT I fully agree that we make up 75% of the market and as such I enjoyed your review as it interests me more than a 23year old whippet that trains during office hours. Enjoy your bike and Groenkloof.
  3. 18 months. The best. Also have DT Swiss on my hardtail - not the same without that King buzzzzz
  4. I have a Tallboy (AWESOME) and have just ordered a set of Arche's built on to my Chris King hubs. Had Sunrinqle- no problems. Lionman took my rims away....
  5. I have a very plush 29er Dual (Santa Cruz) and a Scot Pro HT 29er. HT I can stand to climb, the dually I can sit to descent. Pick your style and compensate for your weaknesses??. I work for income and cycle for pleasure, so I find I am on the dually a lot since I am not fit and tough enough "to suck it up" anymore for long rides. Will do Babbas this weekend on the hardtail (hoping for around 2:40) because the course allows for it. BTW great ride at Groenkloof this morning - giraffe bull was very protective of little one, and wouldn't let us pass. Had to turn around. Another great day in P-town!! (picture too big to upload - how do I fix that?)
  6. On the new 2x10 SRAM you cannot adjust the front to eradicate chain rub because the left is also indexed (2 positions). They are also smack in the middle of XX and XO triggers as far as weight goes. Already ordered mine......!!
  7. Also look at Bionicon C -guard. (didnt you drop a chain a few times?)
  8. thx for that link. I feel much better after reading that- at least these guys make mistakes like we do ( falling etc.). They just do it all so much quicker...
  9. I think the downhill guys use it but we tend to be weight weenies. Stopping for a chain losses more time imo. Look at X-guide from MRP made for Truvativ. Availability????
  10. Why do we not use chainguides like lots of guys in Europe? What is the downside on a 2x10 for example?
  11. How did Fritz P go on that fancy retro bike of his?
  12. I did the 75k. Very well organised. I didnt see much of the views - was trying to stay rubberside down on all the descents. Had a hard fall on a 3 arrows down at about 40 - no surprise there! I thought the climb up to Kapama at about 55-59 was ridiculous, I struggled to carry there, never even considered riding it. Do the pros really ride alll of that? Coming down Vodacom hill on my way home had a complete mecanical meltdown, and had to carry my bike to my car. Climbed 1400m and did 75 km for a DNF! I WILL BE BAAAAACK!!!
