    Cricket......

Robbie Drummond got bowled by the last ball by Clive Rice at a newlands new year currie game needing 4 runs to win and he was the last wicket. he never played cricket again. Rice should know better about opening his mouth too soon. i wonder what mr Rice is saying now.
  3. entries are trickling in - don't wait till the last minute to enter.

    Cricket......

play 5 odi's on the same pitch in 5 days, take away fielding restrictions, allow wider and leg side deliveries. on the fifth day most sides would battle to put to ball. it would b a lottery. pity the ICC or whoever rules cricket haven't the balls to ban T20

    Cricket......

ag pleez, don't show your ignorance - the 438 was a once off freak game played on a surface prepared for batting with smaller boundaries and fielding restrictions.

    Cricket......

Test cricket at it''s best. if you don't agree go back to T20. u don't just chuck your wicket away in a test or lose a test if you can save it. and that's what we did when Morne went off with an injury. we played to save the test not win it, that we got so close to winning it is a testimony to our fighting spirit. Faf was dead on his feet, if you expected our tail to win it then you don't understand test cricket. that Kepler mumbled something about letting a win slip thru our fingers is just sour grapes because it is well documented he isn't the current Protea's biggest fan.
  7. no , just in case of dead heats. just like t 'd france where officials can scan the frames and ascertain who crossed the line first no matter how close it is.
  8. about2time for league as the system places you as you cross the finish line and takes a photo.

  11. very important - think of the future ie autumn/winter/ league wrt race numbers and chips. don't ditch them after the summer league. and don't hang the bike up to gather dust.
  12. provision has been made for these type of situations but email the organisers direct , i don't want to be quoted and then i'm IDK
  13. you'll have to ask Cyclelab or maybe the ppa about the event.
  14. yes, there will be prize money.
  15. yes but the entry fee remains the same.
  16. team entry is optional - but then u not in the team competition.
  17. unfortunately u have to be a ppa member. if you are a member of a sponsored team and your seeding is outside of the criteria, the league organiser will allow you to ride. so in essence - ppa member & csa member.
  18. agree, Spring League was great and hats off to Wayne Roberts of Light by Linea and Alex Heward but remember this events just don't run themselves. event organisers are very thin on the ground because there is no money in cycle events (unless you have a very generous sponsor) hence our approach to ppa. we need to get a sustainable model for cycle racing off the ground that will still be here in years to come. once summer league is finished. Autumn & Winter road races will kick in and culminate in a 'big event' in June. just to correct a few perceptions - ppa don't have the mandate to sanction races. SA's are in Durban and will attract a minority of West Cape cyclists - business as usual for the majority. your criticism has been noted but i appeal to you to work with us.
  19. summer league starts on 11 Jan with tour of Philadelphia
  20. there are some lazy youngsters with road bikes living at the golf resort for the next few days. they need to get some miles in before the return to Ctown. i suggested they ride to Vredenburg/Saldanha then about 5 intervals up the hill just outside the reserve.
  21. Great ride this morning - the group split into 2 as we hit Koeberg road up to then we averaged 40 kph thru the suburbs. the faster ones with work committments took off. the other group worked thru and off to horse island and all the way to big bay. fast group returned to Edgemead at an average of ±33kph and the slower group at an average of ±31 kph.
  22. ja , i got taken out by a truck while passing on the inside of stationary traffic - witnessed by a cop. he told me i was in the wrong as i should of been in the middle, lane splitting. now i super cautious in static traffic more so in Sea Point. i even suspicious of empty vehicles. J R , heal up quickly and get back on the bike.
  23. i said this from the beginning of the 1.5 m campaign is meaningless to the majority of motorists. if they have to choose between squeezing next to a cyclist to miss the oncoming traffic they will. law or no law
  24. the 1m law means sweet FA when you lying dead in the road. just miss me thats all i ask
