  1. Monton have a store in Green Point now aswell. Agreed the prices are fairly steep but the quality looks decent, Have heard only good things, and it's atleast another brand offering some funky, bright, non-boring, traditional kit as apposed to Ciovita I guess. (Vye haven't got much)
  2. You buy new cleats at the expo for when you're finsihed walking around?
  3. Wow, That is absolute Robbery!!
  4. I see Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio is in CT with her great programme she has started and the partnership with Khaltsha ladies cycling club, Today is actually the bike hand over to the club for the newly purchased bikes which were bought from donations. Seems like a Qhubehka type programme but for ladies, which I'm 100% behind. Just wondering if Ashleigh will both waking up early to do a 79km "race" with 3 "climbs" which are all less than 10mins at her pace I'm guessing. Would be cool to see her racing the CTCT though, or Maybe she can race in the $ bunch where I'm pretty sure she will be a contender.
  5. Always used to receive mails saying substitutions were closed before hand. I've never done it myself at the EXPO but I see someone commented a page or few back saying he got comms saying that they can change at expo.. So honestly I actually don't know, Am also interested if it will be allowed at the expo because then a few other mates will also do the same. I do know the fee is R200 though so don't forget that part. Please keep us updated if you actually can or can not because then Saturday a few mates can take up the offers they had from others.
  6. Isn't this what happened in 2021 though when Christiaan came 2nd overall but 1st in 30-34 and in 2020 Theuns came 8th overall but 1st in 35-39?
  7. You the dude in the Charlie Chaplain hat in the shade or the oke chilling next to Francois Pienaar? 🤣
  8. My 2nd laps have alway sbeen there to assist anyone struggling, Never moaned at anyone to keep left, I've tried to "rally" cyclists together to get them to help eachother out, I've pushed people up Edinburgh, Smits, Chappies, Suikers etc, Stopped and gotten Bananas and water etc, taken bottle to be filled and told the peeps to keep on riding and i will bring it back to them and helped however I could even with punctures etc(still amazes me how many people enter CTCT and can't even get the wheel off let alone change a puncture). I've never wanted to "race" the 2nd lap but more take in the "gees" which I miss during my 1st time around.
  9. I see he said he hurt his knee on the Tue in traning and was involved in a crash on Wednesday in the race which affected his knee more so didn't finish. 2nd race, knee still giving issues so he had to stop again. Next race on Thursday.
  10. Anyone get a 2nd lap e-mail? Or is there(was there) an option to legally do the long route then the short route if back in time?
  11. Lol I saw on Insta he says he couldn't hold on any longer up the last climb with the big boys, thinks he came 2nd in 30-39 Cat
  12. I see he is looking leaner and meaner than before. Was this the case again today?
  13. Ask her why she is looking at other woman, Her Mom would be jealous.. LOL
  14. @babse I hope all is ok your side bud, I see you were involved in the early crash. Heal up soonest 🤲 @Jbr you too bud, Heal up and feel better for tomorrows ITT
  15. Agreed 100% with this. I mean I'm no events organizer but I would've tried to get half the E-Prix circuit atleast which is like a 3kms loop or whatever. From the stadium head toward waterfront, left at the circle, down that beach road past the golf course and left again at the 1st traffic light and back to the stadium. 1 lane would've been enough and it would've been quick.
  16. Had them for a while, 2 pairs of Specialized gloves actually because they were cheap(R250)... But nobody stocks them anymore and they're really difficult to source in SA... I see Monton now stock high wrist gloves(but the price is a tad steep) and then I saw there are 2 sets of Ryan Gibbons UAE gloves in the classifieds which are brand new for only R300. Thinking of buying a set and just having then dyed all black somewhere. I only wear high wristed strapless, slip on gloves and mine are very tired at the moment(both pairs).
  17. Yep that's me, All the Gear no idea typa guy. Or "Look Pro go slow".. Got the Aero Bike, Deep section wheels for Aero gains, Aero helmet, Aero high wristed gloves, Aero Socks, Aero Jersey, But my build is literally everything BUT Aero!!

  19. Yeah not sure how much help I'll be on the climbs as I'll be holding onto @Mamil left pocket (he will probably only know about this arrangement once I've actually held on because I haven't told him yet), But i'll do the best I can..
  20. And all this with only 1 front chain ring...
  21. Yeah I looked properly now.. Just saw the matte frame and was like whaaaat, since when is it available in SA...
  22. is that the new Propel?
  23. My seeding is a shambles so ended up starting in D. Race started fairly quickly because the "neutral zone" is all downhill so everyone on that section becomes Prime Peter Sagan. Seemed everyone managed to make it to Fisantekraal but I knew that after the Fruit Sellers intersection, that's where it would get spicy as those constant drags up toward the R44 begin, I sat as long as I could with the front guys and we opened up quite a gap but then dropped off form the main breakaway about 1km before the turn(more damage control knowing there was a long way to go ahead) and they were never seen again (Looking at the finish times, They actually caught C bunch then finished comfortably in the main C bunch), Anyway, on the R44 just before the left turn at the robots toward Malmesbury where we were still averaging around 38+km/h the bunch kinda all came back together and basically rode all the way with the same faces on the front to the finish. Naturally toward the end a few guys tried their luck but no attacks really stuck, the MC2 guys rode well for one another, with about 300m to go I found myself boxed in on the left and couldn't get out in time to put in a effort for a sprint finish for 878547889756th place, So official result says I came 15th in the bunch which I will accept considering the day spent toward the front and all my time spent doing a few turns. All in all a great day on the bike, incident free, Well organized. Only negative thing was there was no non-alcoholic beverages on sale at the end as the announcer said to me the company who had the tender never arrived, So can't blame PPA for that, Atleast the guys at the coke table never hassled giving us an extra coke because there was no other cooldrinks on sale. Sme nice pics available on www.photosport.co.za (and for free nogals) (I'm the fat dude in the white top with black helmet)
  24. Not EF Nippo related but Callum Ormiston won todays stage at Tour du Rwanda.. Massive win for "Team South Afrcia"
