  1. Have you checked on racetec which race they used to seed you? And also checked what your PPA index is against your racetec index? But I agree, Registration at The Expo will probably be a better option.
  2. Genuine qu though, because you basically reside in SA now, Do you get a general entry or still have to pay for an international entry?
  3. They should take all your top10s at Killarney into account aswell. LOL
  4. Personally I believe everyone who goes to SA National Road Champs and races in the Elite bunch and can realistically hold their own, should automatically be in $. I mean imagine you finished top 15 at SA road champs in the Elites then at CTCT world champs you are essentially "downgraded". Makes no sense really.
  5. Technically the REAL winnder was from the A bunch thoughđź‘€
  6. How is this even a thing?? hahahaha All my long rides(3hrs plus) are done as Z2 coffee rides and all my interval sessions and torque sessions etc are short distances and max 2hr rides and i finish with like a 21km/h average but those rides are 1000 times harder than a 4hr weekend ride where I finish with maybe 27km/h. My mate who rides in the Elite bunch is the same, never checks strava average speed etc, He is much stronger and faster than any of the guys doing 100km+ training rides at a 30+ average. I guess now it makes sense as to why when we are stopped as a bunch at robots then some groups coming flying past refusing to stop, Only for us to catch them further up the road or dragging themselves up the climbs and riding away from eachother LOL. I guess those are the ones seeded from Strava but on Edinburgh look like they're in the last week of the TdF going up the Alps. There's just so many variables to a fast average speed ride on Strava like traffic, weather, robots etc etc, Just does my head in how they could seed guy using this method.
  7. Well all the comms from 99er stated they will definitely use it, So pretty sure they will.
  8. it's even in bold in the E-mail LOL, like they trying to shout it at us.
  9. Check on PPA what your index is. If it's lower on PPA due to 99er and racetec have you on 40 with a previous result before 99er, Then query seeding and get a re-seed. If you did a decent 99er then you might get up to even 1D which will still give you a fair chance.
  10. Currently 37... Will hopefully drop a little more after Tour de PPA
  11. Depends on the weather on the day and the guys in the group, But group wise, going on the last few years, I'd prob say 1C will have a few guys, 1B will have more which means a bigger bunch of guys working together which will make it "easier" for lack of a better word. But from previous years, 1D downwards you wont get many, just the very odd few extremely strong guys who genuinely don't belong there anyway and end up basically riding a solo race.
  12. Good Qu this. I'm sure we can just ask for a re-seed because I haven't entered yet but do plan on doing it. I can either ride a really good race and ask for a better seeding or I could be really crappy on the day and then just keep my current seeding which isn't too bad. I only want to start earlier so that when I get to the top of Edinburgh the bunch which would catch me as I would have been dropped would still be a bunch pushing for close to 3hrs. I guess in a way it's a win win for me then with the seeding already out and not having entered Tour De PPA yet.
  13. See @Mamil, You are point number 2 in this list. Start that tik ASAP
  14. Ok, So who is going to create that spreadsheet again this year so we can see who is wheređź‘€
  15. You can usually get these at any pharmacy or clicks, hell even PnP have them and the local bubby🤣
  16. Got mine. My seeding has declined so slowly they've asked me to start in the $ bunch but only ride the short route so that I make it back in time before cutoff of the short route guys... LOL.. I kid.. I'm nowhere near $... But have dropped back 2 groups from last years CTCT
  17. @Jbr and @babse are more like "hardly any bod"... #SkeletonsSpraypaintedWithFlesh

  19. I was also in F, mostly at the front, Never saw any guys, especially none of the riders around us (top 10) going over the white line. For the most part, the front 10 or so guys were always either single file or at max 2/3 abreast. When I pulled off the front and moved right to see how big the bunch was, even then I didn't see anyone over the white line. I thought F was well behaved besides the 1 occasion when a few guys and the FLM boys shared a few animated words, and then the oke who got all uptight and started the argument, did exactly what he complained about literally 50m further up the road.
  20. Naah that's not on, Not at all, that is endangering not only himself but the whole bunch aswell as the motorists who could possibly have a full family in the oncoming car. Definitely a douche move then!!
  21. Agreed, I weigh north of 80kgs. In a race especially, it takes alot for me to get up the drags/uphill and on the descents I really do not want to be braking at all. Adding to my weight I've got a lovely set of 50mm Aero wheels with ceramic bearings and a lovely Aero road bike, I literally freewheel past so many guys pedalling on the downhills who are the lighter okes who can climb on the front, I do this on the right hand side of the bunch or off the front of the bunch so I dont have to brake at all, and then when the road goes uphill again, naturally I slide back down toward midpack as gravity always wins and I'm not gonna put myself into the red zone on ever climb just to stay on the front. There's nothing wrong with guys using this tactic, it's literally a tactic used at all levels of cycling. I guess as long as he doesn't endanger anybody whilst doing so, There's nothing wrong with it...
  22. Ya you would because you only weigh 55kgs...
  23. @bleedToWin come in...
  24. Disclaimer: However if the robot is green whilst they are coming through those areas, Spotting them becomes difficult.
  25. Very well organized and the marshalls were superb. Just 2 things to note from my side. At the finsih we asked for coke and were told only powerade and water was provided, I must say that the volunteers were superb, I will admit and apologize that I think I had about 6 cups because I was near dying in the heat, But not once did the lady complain or the little boy who kept filling up my cup with a jug and offering more and more ice. The other issue was at the racecourse, I went to purchase a few drinks for mates but there was no card machine available and was told it would only be there at 10am, this was at 9;30. So the guys ended up leaving. Not sure if this is organized by the racecourse or from the events side of things, but that kinda sucked as the guys left and went and spent their money(from their card) elsewhere. Other than that, Superb day at the races. Well done.
