  1. Disclaimer: However if the robot is green whilst they are coming through those areas, Spotting them becomes difficult.
  2. Very well organized and the marshalls were superb. Just 2 things to note from my side. At the finsih we asked for coke and were told only powerade and water was provided, I must say that the volunteers were superb, I will admit and apologize that I think I had about 6 cups because I was near dying in the heat, But not once did the lady complain or the little boy who kept filling up my cup with a jug and offering more and more ice. The other issue was at the racecourse, I went to purchase a few drinks for mates but there was no card machine available and was told it would only be there at 10am, this was at 9;30. So the guys ended up leaving. Not sure if this is organized by the racecourse or from the events side of things, but that kinda sucked as the guys left and went and spent their money(from their card) elsewhere. Other than that, Superb day at the races. Well done.
  3. On the positive side then, World Champs is only in March.. LOL Heal up soon champ 🙏
  4. Same must be said for Luke Moir. 3rd in u23 cat and his favored discipline is MTB. I watched him on Thursday win the sprint at Killarney from a loooong way out against Alex Heward, Jayde Julius, Ozzie and JB. The last 30m he sat up and looked behind him and freewheeled over the line. This kid really really knows how to play bikes...
  5. Yeah thanks bud. Owe you a beer
  6. Managed to get sorted thanks a mill.
  7. Guys now that I have a seeding secured. I need a few of the qu's below answered please. 1. What's the weather forecast, Moreso the wind? 2. Will we get goodie bags? 3. Do we need a vax certificate? 4. Can I borrow a road E-Bike because the tannies at the start chutes can't tell an E-Bike from a Checkers60 Motorbike(I don't blame them though they are just volunteers?!
  8. was this before or after he ..... ag, nvm💉
  9. Yes 100% and always eeing you guys. Just didn't mention City Cycling Club or Outriders as OP was asking about Southern Suburbs.
  10. Holy SHERBET. Right, Anyone getting rid of an entry?? EDIT: Got sorted, Thanks @DieselnDust
  11. Club 100 Team Infinity Cycling Club Cape Town Giants The BMC guys (Not sure if they're as registered club but there are always more than just a handful of them around) Star Cycling Club These are just a few teams I usually see on weekends when riding around the Southern Suburbs and Peninsula, There are quite a few more.
  12. @Sid the Sloth has had a jersey and a bib stitched together into a skinsuit which looks pretty rad and very very well done, Perhaps he can give you a lead. I also remember Vye customizing some peoples kit from other brands to get it to fit a bit better. Perhaps pop them a mail.
  13. I remember seeing 1 guy with a $ number in Food Lovers Market kit and normal prescription glasses at around the 45km mark or so, 70kms in or so he was riding closer to the front, so I thought, well here is some help to the finish, he slowly dropped back before the right turn onto Adderley, Then on Adderley as those slight rollers began, He comes past holding the pocket of a lady who was riding a road E-Bike, He let go on the downhill part then as it kicked up again, He grabbed on again, on the flats I could see he was struggling though. Seems I need to get a mate with an E-Bike to ride with me and literally tow me up the hills too...
  14. Well well well, Travis Steadman, Who I believe retained his contract within the setup has now gone and won SA Champs. So the SA jersey will be with him in Italy atleast. LOL
  15. PPA (or the system atleast) has me seeded in G, I was C I think for last years CTCT. Anyway, Started in F, Went to the front from the start hoping to split the group out of Durbanville toward Fisantekraal and take with a few guys who were keen on riding a good time for seeding purposes. Not putting in any really hard meaningful attacks, I was hoping that the close to 40km/h average speed up till the turn left at the fruit sellers would have done some damage, but as we turned left it looked like it hadn't. Had a handful of guys and a lady assist in keeping us at around a 39km/h+ for the better part of the 1st half of the race but always the same faces appearing infront. G caught us somewhere before the left turn toward Kalbaskraal and everyone seemed to just accept that it was going to be 1 big coffee ride till the end. Then at 90kms after spending most of the time of the front my stomach started giving me issues after being sick with the bug last week (add to this I only had 3hrs sleep on Fri night and no breakfast due to loadshedding when I woke up), I then started getting stomach cramps which have never ever happened to me before, I Couldn't eat and couldn't drink and started to feel weak in the last few kms and watched the bunch ride away on the last drag up Adderley and rolled up Odendaal all on my ace about 4mins or so behind the rest of the bunch I must commend all the marshalls on the day, They all did a splendid job. I also feel for asnyone who was out on the road after 9 because I finished around 9:30 and it was already 34deg. My 1 buddy who was a marshall says he thinks they called the race not too long after because of the heat. All in all, rubber side stayed down, so a "successful" day out I guess.
  16. Yeah I did thankfully, thanks to @Murrob for helping out. Absolute legend...
  17. E must move down to G... You can start lower down but not higher up.
  18. I E-mailed the chairman of the 99er and he replied saying I can do a substitution tomorrow morning as my mate has pulled out, All I need is the original seeding E-mail he got and a letter stating he would like to transfer his entry to me, So I have all of that info already. The issue is 1 of my mates have left there now and he said the lady said the substitutions are only open till 6pm this evening and they won't be doing them tomorrow morning. Is there anyone who can do the substitution for me at registration today, I will send you all the info you need then I will just collect my number tomorrow morning as usual? Please gents. Please DM me. I will obviously pay for the substitution myself, just need someone to get them to do it on their system at registration is what I mean.
  19. Anyone going to collection later at the racecourse who could do me a solid??
  20. Yeah I think WC Champs will be the last we see of him, besides the REAL World Champs in March in CT, Was surprised he isn't at SA Champs. Wonder if that's him calling it a day as a Pro Cyclist?
  21. u23 Ladies ITT Gold - Frances Janse van Rensburg (Last Years Elite Ladies Road Champ) Elite Ladies - Zanri Rossouw (Average speed of 43.4km/h for the 20km course)
  22. Yeah, That's what I was told by someone close to him, he is essentially racing strictly in the Crit leagues in USA as far as I am aware.
  23. Mens ITT race is tomorrow apparently. I don't have any start times unfortunately.
  24. Yeah proper close sprint with Johann Trotzky narrowly coming in 2nd and Gustav Basson coming in 3rd. With Reinhardt essentially having retired from road racing to focus on that crit league, I guess if he wins the RR on Sunday, We won't get to see the national jersey on show anywhere.
  25. Mens National Crit Champ - Reinhardt Janse van Resnburg Womans National Crit Champ - Hayley Preen For those unaware this event took place yesterday.
