  1. Paul Cluver MTB trails are closed from December 31, 2020 until further notice.
  2. I like his Integrated Gum Guard! Go Waxhead! https://www.instagram.com/p/BDISbVErDhkAID8v-5jHm7LfIDyu8MnmH_HlxA0/
  3. Job well done PPA! Lets hope Cape Town's gang of rouge cyclists don't screw it up for us all? I ride with a R80 bell from Sportsmans - saved my butt a few times, not only on the Green Belts, but in Stage races when I loose my partner and on the road to warn pedestrians and Taxis. I suggest that besides proof of residence when applying for a Table Mountain activity card, Mountain bikers should be asked to show "proof of Bell". Nothing wrong with a "ting-ting" when approaching someone from behind to alert them of you passing. There are also a couple of blind corners on the Green Belts where a precautionary ring could also avoid a terrible head on collision with another MTB rider or walker. Great work Renay and PPA. Glad to see our PPA subs being put back into our community. Power to the Bicycle Bell!
  4. I say Furbz gets the reward! Well done!
  5. Here's a great example of what kids are capable of nowadays. Our youngest, aged 4, tags along on the family rides on his half wheeler if the rides are longer than 1 hour and has climbing involved. Our eldest, aged 7, is ready to tackle anything that comes his way with his 7 speed.
  6. I saw this bike last week and promptly drooled all over it. Speak to the Guys at Bike Plus: Xavier@bikeplus.co.za 021-7947973 Some of the new 2013 BMC's has arrived. Fourstroke FS01 29 X0 - R59 600 Team Elite TE02 29 XT - R35 800
  7. Scott website went live today: http://www.scott-sports.com/global/en/category/bike/
  8. My recent purchase: 2013 Scott Spark 940 - What a machine!

Needless to say, I kept the lead to keep away from the distinct menthol aroma He swears by it! I stick to the LBS approved chamios / bum creams.
  10. Here's one that anyone can join. I joined the night ride this evening and they have already split into two groups. (medium and fast) Trail and Tar Don't forget boys and girls, Wednesday Night is Trail and Tar night out rides, starts and ends at store - 18:00 to 19:30, all welcome, FREE HOT CHOC, dress warm.
  11. Not to throw a spanner in the works, but bikes mentioned above are 2012 models. Why not look at the new 2013 Scott Scale 940? Mix of XT and SLX, and I've now seen them at two of my LBS http://www.hotspotcycles.co.za/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=352&category_id=2&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=4
  12. I purchased the Continental X-King 29 x 2.4'' non-UST from the guys at EasyBike. I slapped the tyre on the front with my current tubeless conversion from Stans' No Tube and it took first time. The tyre burped on my first ride out on a rock, as I was running my usuall tyre pressure of 1.7bar. After adjusting the pressure to 1.8bar it's been great - no issues so far, 200km down the line.
  13. I've had awesome experience from all 3! Now just waiting for Olympic Cycles to complete their shop and focus on their website to bring themselves up to speed.
  14. So launch in August in the U.S. means...... hopefully January 2013 in SA right? Gonna have to restrain myself from spending my Christmas bonus before that.
