  1. A HUGE thank you to everyone that took part on this ride, and also to the Helivac marshals who did an amazing job keeping us safe on the roads. We will definetely do this again
  2. Yip it is......lets hope we get a good turn out. Come on hubbers....join us for a morning ride with a difference.
  3. Hi Gents and Ladies, We have planned a ride in support of Door of Hope childrens mission, (a home that takes in abandoned babies), on the 10th September 2011. The ride will start from Thaba Trails, the new mountain bike trails being prepared by Wendell Bole. This is on Klipriver drive where the old brickyard used to be, a few hundred meters south of Panorama Center. We plan to start at 08H00am The ride will be a road ride but all types of bikes are welcome. The pace will be slow as this is a group support ride and we want to keep everyone together. We are asking that everyone who joins us bring an item from their needs list (this can be viewed on their website www.doorofhope.co.za) The ride will end at the Baby House in Glenvista which is only a few kilometers from the start, but the complete ride distance will be around 55km. There will be a bakkie at the start where all the 'Needs list items' ca be placed in and this bakkie will meet us at the Baby House at the end of the ride. The Helivac guys have offered their assistance with escorting the cyclists along the route and helping with the traffic where possible. Lets hope we can make this a huge success. Thanks all.
  4. Never met Mark other than here....R.I.P. Condolences to the family
  5. My 'strong' training buddies have ridden it twice a few times....shouldnt be a problem if your timing chip is off.
  6. Mmmmm....this is gonna be interesting........
  7. Its all about the bike.............
  8. you should switch off all electronic equipment during the flight.....
  9. ......Biltong or Drywors? Now thats the one to consider?
  10. ok seriously: Road bike - 88km/h down klipriver drive MTB - 84km Drakensberg Royal Natal.......but also on tar!
  11. MTB : tar with knobblies - 135km/h....on the bike carrier on the way to Sabie.
  12. Mountain lion....I did remove the rim strip and fit the tape. Got some non-tubeless tyres today so will try them tonight........look out on the 'for sale' section for new Crossmarks non tubeless tomorrow if I cant get them on!
  13. Thanks Dusty....could be the solution....even if only for the sake of the tyre levers!
  14. Thanks guys, I think it must be the rim in this case....slightly higher profile than my other rims. Have fitted Crossmarks and Larsens before on other rims no problems. Birtbreath....I got the bead on the center and still no luck.....almost feels as if the thickness of the conversion strip makes the fitting of the tyre impossible. I need to find an easier fit tyre....anyone know the pythons?
  15. Morning all, Can anyone help with suggesting a tubeless tyre thta will fit onto a DT Swiss X455 rim. I tried fitting my Maxxis Larsens LUST tyres and no way they would go on......busted 7 tyre levers in the process too... Now I need to find tyre that is easier to fit......any suggestions? Thanks,
